The Dirt Daily Thread

Was gonna start off with the owners' club daily because RX dailies smells. I practice, tweak setup to make the S4 somewhat drivable... then once I start the daily the game goes like "lol jumped the start". Fuck you.

My RX daily wasn't much better. 15 fps and piss poor driving. I didn't even catch the AI. What a crap couple of dailies.

@Didzis you have to get off the line in third gear to pull away from the AI from the word go.

A really surprising Delta S4 daily, i wouldn't have expected fifth (currently) with how slow i was driving, Sadly no delta time is set, hence no rewards AGAIN. Such a blinding stage, that snow just over-brightens everything for me.

Again starting off with the owners' club. 5:50 in practice. Fucked up the event due to non-existant concentration. This will be taken care of very shortly, however.

Daily... 2:46 in practice. Two seconds slower on the event itself. And I have no idea why...

2010's logic.

WHY is there a guy standing right on the edge of the tarmac 10 yards from the finish line at Waldaufstieg!?! That cost me a 15 second penalty! :angry:

Metro daily went far better than i thought i could do with only 3 out of 5 upgrades and a Keyboard. Success!

The MINI daily was ok, went straight for it, no practice, am 153rd out of 1845 currently, so comfortably in the top tier :D. Didn't do the Metro daily as I haven't bought it and I'm saving up for the new cars that come with the Finland update :)

Mini without problems, still I don't understand why I can get in op ten Leaderboard with every class but the 2010,  I somehow always end up in the mid 30's, the Metro practice went okay, did a 6:09, went for the daily, the first 'don't cut' I could previously do flawlessly in practice somehow went wrong resulting into a nice pinball effect off the cliff that was there, so I lost 15 seconds, I thought I'll just continue to see if I can do the rest better, went flawlessly (of course after a crash), so if I didn't have that little mishap, I could have beaten my previous personal best of 6:09, but no, finished 7th with a lousy 6:25. It was fun, but I am a bit disappointed by my dumb mistake near the start.

Indeed, that "pinball effect" ruin the game experiencience IMHO. Overall physics are great until you touch roadsides, where unpredictable things can happen.

I know, I take the oportunity to link my pool whenever I have occasion, but I think it is a very important issue to be solved (or reworked). If this roadside mounds/banks are not reworked soon the videos that show this weird/unrealistic behaviors could take away potential buyers

Daily: 2:33.9 in practice, but only 2:35.6 in the daily itself... even though I was driving exactly the same, and even got lucky with the AI. Because fuck logic.

Owners' club: Some small annoying mistakes, including one where I forgot to downshift (...) but the time turned out to be very quick anyway. I like how the RS200 is faster around that track than the 2010's Fiesta. This just proves Clarkson's theory of "POWEEEEEEEEEEER" is 100% accurate.

I do really enjoy driving the RS200 on stages in Germany, it's still very corner friendly, I can handbrake 90 / 180 degrees and easily keep it under control through the corners. it's a very playful car too on other stages like Wales and Greece, but a lot of fun! :D

Today's daily with the Escort I didn't feel like practising for it so I jumped right into it, that was obviously a mistake, had a weird snag on the left side of a sandy cliff and that resulted in me bumping slightly to the right, nearly hit the fence and flew over it -.-' 15 second penalty.

The Owner's daily was even worse, after 4 corners I crashed into a parked car on the right side of the road, I crashed and died.
So yeah, no top 10 for me today.

on the audi was doing okay then spokester messaged me on steam :pi hit a big snow bank. game over :)

Well my Escort daily went to shit.

The owners' club went a bit better, despite a couple of tryhard-understeer moments.

The Lancia daily was ok, just one little mistake, overshot the right hairpin (acute?) which is right after the long downhill bit, near the very end.Currently 6th of 75 :)
The Pug was going well until in the last sector I punctured my wheel, got till the end, but am in the mid tier

My Lancia exploded.

In other news, i pretty much nailed the Pug Greece daily, at least how much i am physically capable. Two good dailies in a row, kind of incredible.

Daily - exactly the same time as the leader. Don't mind if I do.
Owners' club. Could be better, could be worse. I do like the 205 in Greece though. Its default setup is just right.

Perfect Daily Day today on both daily and owner's, perfect cars and perfect stages, and what do I do? exactly, I fuck them both up, penalties on both stages, ended up 20 seconds slower in the owner's daily because apparently I cannot drive under pressure. When it comes to it I break and start making mistakes, I had a nice run on both practised stages, got a nice 6:02 on Frauenberg with the Lancia, and I end up with a shitty 6:31! I didn't even hit the crowd, I hit a rock and that counts as a pedestrian apparrently, so yeah didn't feel like continuing normally, I slowly drove towards the finish, I was so close to the finish, 165th place, what a shame. The 205 didn't go much better, didn't have any resets, but still 20+ seconds behind the leader because my car decided barrel rolling across the stage was it's thing for that day.

Disappointing day today, too bad, I end up doing good in things I suck at, and when it's something I'm good at I usually fail horribly.
It's a curse I'm sure.

Don't know if I'll bother with the PP daily. Best time so far in practice is embarrasing. It's annoying that I can't for the life of me figure out how to be quick on tarmac. Just look at the group B weekly - total humiliation. :D

Owners' club went ok.

Just realised I've stopped doing the Dailies since they started adding rallycross ones in there. I used to fire it up to do these if nothing else, but now I'm not doing that in case it's an RX one. Need to try to get back in the habit.
