Good run with RS500, 9th overall best time. Thanks to the much I ran in monthly I guess...

Finland, not a good run but memorable one!
I broke all my front lights scratching a bush with the tail (...??!!) I got to run without any light since 20% or so. But what a run! It was awsome, and beautiful!... the sky, the darkness on the deep forrest sections, the lights from the houses, incredible. One of the better enviroment represented on a racing game I ever saw.

Cheers to the whole Environment Artists, your doing an awsome job. EGO at its best!

Super fun runs today in both the Sierra and the 205; both absolute beasts in their own ways.

Finished 24th in Sierra and 10th in the 205 T16, but no doubt I'll get bumped down the order a bit as the day goes on. Regardless, had massive fun driving on both stages in both cars.

Daily: The Sierra is a glorious machine. However, with default gear ratios... it was terrible. No speed at all. I was three seconds slower than my personal best... in the STRATOS. So yeah. But hey - I finished.

Owners' club: This was a fun daily. Definitely lost a handful of seconds braking for some of those jumps though.. really didn't want to risk getting a puncture!

Pork, what do you change on the Sierra setup? i have nasty issues getting low speed turn in and keeping the back end in check at higher speeds.

Daily: Somehow only 9 seconds behind after a shit run. Don't really like this car.

Owners: 5:45 in practice. Got a flat somehow on a small jump in the event.

Well obviously I couldn't change the setup in the daily, but the times I do set it up I raise first gear many, many clicks.. and arrange the gears thereafter in a much more orderly fashion. Example (please note that this is not for the Sierra):

Besides that, I make the differential stronger and set the brake bias rearwards for gravel, forward(ish) for tarmac - and stiffen/soften dampers/suspension depending on surface.

Apparently it improves traction, but can cause oversteer. I don't mind the oversteer, sooo... click-click-click!

Lol, yes, you're basically getting it closer to a 'welded diff'  or a solid rear axle.  It will improve straight line traction as the rear wheels will be less able to turn separately.

Hmm, by stronger diff, you mean lessen the chance of the wheels turning independently?
Exactly. the more strong, the more equal spin ratio on both wheels.

If oversteer does not bother you, let it as default, but try lowering some torque in diff (at 30nm for example)

Also, a bit of toe in (negative) at front wheels can give you some straight stability; lets say -0.15.

@Porkhammer, that gearbox final ratio is insane! with that you could get around 280km/h (even more) top speed. Not needed. If you lower the final ratio (and carry lower all gears as well) you will get much better acceleration. Just an opinion.

I love that the Manta is part of the dailies today! Never actually used it in a career or in a live stage before, so ran the daily with the stock car, and just enjoyed the ride.

Things were going great in the Mk2, my favourite car, until I got a puncture on the front left landing a jump (I was getting too cocky because of how well the stage was going). Fortunately it didn't affect me too much, and managed to still post a decent time. Still, had a blast!

Daily: Happy to finish after some hairy moments.
Owners' club: Phone kept ringing while I was driving (pausing the game and pick up is out of the question, as all rhythm would have vanished) so I made lots of tiny annoying mistakes, and on top of that the engine cut out in the final corner for some reason. I'm guessing 3-4 seconds lost in total.

No, I never read author names. :( I just find a gorgeous skin and use it. I'm silly like that.

Magnificent work though. It even smells like Toivonen.

Got a 6:21 in the daily. Recorded the replay so I could upload it but then the menu bugged and wouldn't let me back out of friends comparison to upload the result. I'll post the video later though.

This run was wayy scarier than the group B on finland. #justV2things

Mk2 Daily, thought Id enjoy it.  Like the stage, like the car.  Setting 6min 40 in practice, hit the daily, unnecessary puncture on the first large jump at the stage start...
