Daily: I think this was a fast time, I'm not sure. It's hard to tell with such a forgiving car.
Wager: Slow but flawless run to ensure a top tier finish.

= fastest time on both then I guess. Damn your worse than Peter Forsberg after a 5 point game. "I played horrible"

:#

We haven't seen gheed, rampage, or simulant drive yet... of course I assume I'm slow. That way I'm not disappointed when beaten. ;)

Where's ji1 these days btw?

Hopefully just on a long break, but I fear the worst. Whenever we chat on Steam he makes no mention of Dirt Rally. :(

Holy crap, went as fast as I can on the daily, being literally millimetres away from doom and still 6,7s behind Porky. You guys have some way of getting your own setup into dailies instead of the default? Asking since with my own I did 3:22.somethingortheother while not pushing as far, so I'm fairly confident I could beat Porky's time with my own setup, but not with that wiggly default thing.

That or Porky simply learned how to apply his "cheats" to the tarmac :D

Nope, no setup tricks. Just trying to keep it on the road and survive. That visibility though!

Dem, those smooth lines are something I'll never be able to match with a gamepad. That's where I lose most of the time, too rough steering. Am I correct in assuming that for the 3rd hairpin (1:57) you went down to 1st immediately, effectively using the engine as a brake?

Thanks, I do try to be smooth. Since I use paddleshifting for 2000's cars I cannot go straight to first. I revved up 5th good, braked hard, gear down 4 times (this can be heard quite clearly imo), turn in, quick tug on the handbrake and throttle away.

You can. Hold the paddle shift for a second. Voila, 1st gear. Main reason why I asked, since it seemed like you went straight to 1st judging from the engine sound (well, more like 5th,4th, 1st).

Thanks for the tip - now to remember it!

I was never in 6th there though - but 5th. I saw no reason to be in 6th for two seconds. :D So 4, 3, 2, 1 - to me the four blips is still apparent in the audio.

So, am I the only one that thinks the clutch is slipping on the MK2? The same with the M3. It annoys the hell out of me.

@Porkhammer Did you by any chance record your run through today's wager daily for a possible upload after the deadline?
I just couldn't get the car to grip, no matter what I did to steering and throttle input or setup changes. Resorted to driving like an old grandma on her way to church. Still I spun.

Would be very interesting to see another of your "how to drive properly"-tutorial videos.

I found the steering quite unresponsive on the MKII too.

Specially in the straw bales chicanes car didnt turn a shit.

I dont know, I would say this car was never such spongy and soft.

I took my time to setup the car and run the 10 shakedowns, even with maxed hard susp/dampers the car felt too soft

That is what i feel on most V2 cars, they do not want to be even remotely stiff on tarmac. The Escort wasnt so bad, but man i forgot how to control it when it mattered X__X

I crashed on both Daily's.  possibly due to having fallen asleep on the sofa before deciding to play.  What way does the wager work?  I put 200k in?

I see Dirt Game is down this morning, maybe @Hatward is making the changes to the blind wager events he has talked about?

Not really. Was logged out. Had to log in. Still works. Checked the twitter feed, up-to-date. Hit ctrl+f5, still there. It's problem on your side I'm afraid.

I meant you were on 5th, then 4th and then 1st. Not that you were on 6th then 5th, 4th and 1st ;) Sorry if I made it sound confusing.

So today's wager daily was pretty disappointing for me, seems like the little pug doesn't like hard landings, got rad damage and a puncture later in the stage from going 90%  over some of those bigger jumps. Wish you could get some notification that it's causing damage as some cars can take those better than others. maybe a co-driver call? something like "Samir, you are breaking the car!" ;) Think I'll still make mid teir though so not the end of the world.

Taking a 1m30s penalty was out of the questions as I only had 3 checkpoints left. On that note does anything else think the puncture penalty is too high, Even if I got that puncture 40% through that 10km high speed course it wouldn't be beneficial to repair it. Just gotta trundle through the rest of the course.

Well, its Error 500 on my PC, & on 4G on my phone, which would suggest that the problem is not on my side. :)
