Find info on engineers and generally that aspect of the game

Beside that I love this game (something I'd never guess I'd say for a Codemaster game) I am a bit confused in regard to the engineers, garage, upgrades and so forth. At the beginning I invested in hiring an engineer to see what would happen. Shortly after I got a notice his contract had expired. How is that part of the game working? Is it still under construction? Does it make a difference? What are the best strategies if it does work?

I am sure there is some post that explains it, but I have not found it yet. Any hint would be appreciated.

When you hire an engineer it lists the amount of stages you have contracted him for. At any time you can add to his contract or replace him.

Each engineer has technical abilities that make allow them to fix various parts of the car faster.

The best strategy is to have as many engineers of the highest quality you can afford.
