Sounds interesting! Good update. Ok, I miscounted, I was one year out! WRC 2023...
Social Media & Community Team PJTierney Posted June 2, 2020 Author Social Media & Community Team Share Posted June 2, 2020 Visit the Website Quote We're making two very different but equally awesome racing games. Two distinct varieties of DIRT from two dedicated Codemasters teams. 1
Jake Cushing
Damn, I read the thread title as "The Next Level of Off-Line Racing Games" Must be wishful thinking
Jake Cushing
So... are we getting closer to getting a date for when we might get some info on when we'd perhaps get a date for something new or perhaps just info on the next phase of the Dirt Rally series? Social Media & Community Team PJTierney Posted September 21, 2020 Author Social Media & Community Team Share Posted September 21, 2020 I wouldn't expect news on what the Rally team has been working on for quite a while. Unfortunately I can't give you an estimate. In other news, some good videos from EGX:
Jake Cushing
Great to hear in that 'Next-gen console tech' interview, the director of Dirt 5 placing such emphasis on high frame-rates. Sounds like they're going for 120fps locked on the new consoles. This was a brilliant decision - to prioritise FPS - going back to Dirt Rally 1. To think the official WRC game still plays only at 30fps on current consoles. It's a major advantage that Codies have set that standard.
Social Media & Community Team PJTierney Posted September 21, 2020 Author Social Media & Community Team Share Posted September 21, 2020 Anything 60+ is fine by me 🙂 Hopefully with next gen we'll see 60+fps replays on console too, as right now that's still capped at 30. Makes YouTube content creation easier 🙂
Dealer92
I just returned to DR2.0 after a six-month hiatus and am enjoying the game so much. Went in head first and started grinding thru the all-new (for me at least) Scottish stages in Time Trial mode with wet conditions and Rally GT class. Full focus truly is required to handle the rwd beasts on those technical sections with no assists on... 🤩 I wonder if we're talking about 2021 or perhaps 2022 when it comes to the next installment of the series..? As a die-hard rally fan I have never been into the DIRT games themselves, but boy do I enjoy the Dirt Rally franchise... IF the DR3 will be next-gen only, then Xbox Series X might well end up on my shopping list solely because of that rally game. Looking forward to even a tiny crumb of information on the next one or its release date... to put it mildly.

subway47
I drive about 2 to 3 hours almost every day. Mostly time trials. I would like to have statistics on ALL miles / KM driven. Even when I cancel a run and restart. Edited December 31, 2020 by subway47
Jake Cushing
What'd be nice is replays for all runs, even when re-starting. So those epic crashes you just couldn't stomach keeping can at least be viewed properly.
