Just got a 19.1GB update for the game on Steam, but seeing no notes anywhere. I assume something of that size isn't nothing?

Literally a pinned thread there with patch notes, not sure how you manage to not find that.

Yeah it's pretty big for relatively meager updates but size of the patch does not necessarily correlate with the extensivity of the updates. Much of the game is packed into a tiny number of massive files so often even small changes require overwriting a big file.

Best exhaust sounds winner since today is:  Ford Escort RS Cossworth
Thank you Codies for recording its ALS sound. Pretty awesome

I didn't expect it to be that big though!

Certain changes to locations require the entire location to be redownloaded.

Ah that explains it. Was hoping that size was due to the inclusive of Spa and an i20. :classic_laugh:

PJ even said that long before the patch notes came out, that we probably have to re-download the scotland rally location again.
I expected a big size, so don't get the confusion here.

Did a test run with the Escort RS Cosworth...wow, sounds awesome!
Kudos to the audio team...once again!

The Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 S4 22B RS500 is still my favourite though 😃

Tihihi...

damn, 19GB is too big for me. I've only got 75GB left for the month, and it's only the 4th 😪

hopefully with the lockdown easing here I'll be able to get back to the city where I can download to my heart's content.

I own the full game on PS and Steam now, but I can't play My Team on either of them! gah!

edit: anyone know which (if any) countries other than Scotland have to be redownloaded? Scotland is only 5.34 GB.

Just noticed, the escort has 7 gears. @PJTierney Why is that?

Competition car had 7 gears @m260602. It is a rare gearbox now, only a handful left in world!

That's one of the reasons this car is so cool and unique. Now with improved sound, it might very well become my favourite car in the game 🙂

@tbtstt @danielofifi I see, thanks guys, btw really cool sound update, if the team could record the Lancer Group A sound and the Lancer R4, the car sounds would be complete!

Do you use the same Racenet account for both platforms? I would like to continue my progress if I were to change to PC or PS5 later on. I hope that is possible.

All done in 40mins for me. Not played it yet. I am upgrading my PC and don't plan on gaming till it's all done.

And how can I download the contents again on the PS4?
I have now deleted the game and reinstalled everything again - that should be good, right?

yes I do. and no, it doesn't transfer. as far as I know, the saved data is saved in the platform's (ie steam/ps) cloud, not the CM one.

I have deleted the whole game and reinstalled it
The German Co-Driver Tanja Geilhausen is still too quiet and still fluctuating in volume, it has been improved but not good enough

Now I have tried Phil Mills, everything is perfect in Scotland
Please adjust the volume for Tanja in Scotland.

Thanks for the update ....  @PJTierney  -  There is One rather large Bug that has been overlooked for a long time now,  reported in many different threads since the Oculus release.

When using the Oculus Rift original or Rift S and driving in any night stages or even stages with darker sections of roads, there is a very noticeable banding of the dark colours in the sky and the environment as if it is being rendered in 8bit rather than 32bit.  It looks like all the color is separated through a blue to black spectrum.  This issue does not occur at all on the Oculus Rift if running the Steam version but only the version using the Oculus SDK.  People who bought the Oculus store version reported this issue way back at launch as well.

Can it not be fixed for some reason ?  Please let us know as now that development is winding down it is concerning that the Devs have not looked at this or worse probably would be that they are still totally unaware of this issue at all for some reason.  It affects every Oculus user who runs via the Oculus SDK.

Me and many others have been reporting this since the oculus sdk got released on steam but they havent said a single word about it.

And please also make sure that the co-driver for Scotland gets a patch....  it looks like only the English has been improved.

I have completely new installed and Tanja is still too quiet

First 6 threads in Steam:

The reason for large downloads is due to the fact that some changes to locations require an entire location to be redownloaded again. Examples of this include changing collision detection of trees at Monte Carlo, removing a "hole" at Killarney that a car could fall through, and most notably several things to do with pace notes.

Both Scotland and New Zealand had updates in 1.14, which explains why the size is so large. Also, the Ford Escort RS Cosworth got entirely new audio (based on the real car).
