First stage in monte carlo today, got 10 corners in only to bounce off a rock face and go over the cliff  :(  gutted

If it's any consolation, we've all been there. Monte is the monthly killer.

I don't know what was worst: the time I DNF'ed on the first stage of the monthly or the time I did it on the last. :D

Aaand done. God damn this car's suspension is RANDOM.

I maybe made 2 mistakes of my own, but the car? Lost control additional 3-4 times due to just bumps being bumps. Doesn't help the Escort is... amazingly weak on Greece on its own.

Yeah Snaky, wish Codies hadn't made the Escort so awful... it's a truly iconic car and deserves a better representation.

Yeah its my favourite car visually and in Tarmac handling, but as soon as its bumpy - the car is completely gone, even with max ride height. :/

I did achieve what i intended - be the fastest Escort in the monthly. :D

Late EDIT: Damn, Coldplayer pushing that thing.. well, it helps he probs didnt crash like i did in Sweden. That for me cost so much...

Opps, I did it again.

Perasma Platani this time. About halfway through the stage there's a "right 5 into left 3", and on the exit there's a bump/hole/something that ALWAYS catch me out. I've lost count on how many times I've gone through there thinking "yeah, that's a good exit!" and the next thing I know the car is flipping wildly down the cliffside. F***.

Group A monthly, Sweden stages - done. First stage went well. After that the Integrale seemed to overreact a lot to steering inputs, so I had to go very slowly for the other 5 stages. Still a decent lead afterwards though. 3 countries to go. I also noticed a hacker on SS2 - goes by the name of fahrul. @Hatward ? ;)

Germany, done. Nice pace, and my only mistake was a medium speed spin towards the end of Frauenberg. Incredibly lucky not to clip the rocks.

Monaco, done. Supper slippery conditions, so I was focusing on clean driving, and it paid off. Only minor mistakes on the night stages where I got cocky because they had a bit more grip than the daytime ones. Tsk.

And that wraps up my monthly. Greece, done. No mistakes -- nice, clean & smooth driving all the way through. Decided to push a little bit on the very final stage and it paid off. I won it by 20 seconds! Leading the event with 9 hours to go.

My first monthly since a long time. Picked the Subaru, and dear was I lost in Sweden, spun and spun and lost almost 2 minutes on the lead. Can you believe it? Germany went pretty nice, I gained some positions. Also in Monte-Carlo, I climbed up some more position in the leaderbord, although I had a spin and also needed to reverse once because I touched this wooden fence. Greece at last was really solid for me, although I almost lost everything in the very last stage. Overall, it was a nice battle with Headquake137 and gives me current P2 behind the fastest PS4 player. But since Porks started the monthly, my time will be beaten by 3-4 minutes.

Had a great Sweden event, then struggled as usual in the tarmac stages of Germany and Monte and lost a lot of time.
Finishing in Greece let me really push to get some time back. Hopefully i can hold onto a podium spot.

Pretty much did it all in one go, took the Subaru. Surprisingly didn't make any big mistakes in Sweden, not a single spinout. I have it opposite to @Headquake , I usually struggle on snow and gain time on tarmac :D

Germany went well. Had a run through the bushes after the big jump on the long stage in the rain. They totally messed up my hood, but I didn't lose much time there. The last stage was an absolute flyer :)

In Monte Carlo I was a bit slower on snow. On the downhill part, it's really fun to drift around the snowy hairpins, but I guess it's not the fastest way to move forward :D Also had few close calls where I had to stop and slowly creep back on the track not to fall off.

When I was done with Monte, it was already midnight (and since we switched to daylight savings time just 2 days ago, it would've been 1 in the morning), so I was feeling a bit tired. In Greece it started to show, I had a lot of little mistakes (and one bigger crash), and really had to concentrate to keep on the road, but all is well that ends well :) The Monthly is done :)

Also just noticed that the Impreza 1995 is now my favorite vehicle according to racenet stats, before the Monthly it was the Evo X :)

Well, looks like i've held on to a top ten finish this month after all. Wasn't sure my times would hold.

To begin with, i probably shouldn't have picked the Mini, i thought it might help me in Monaco but.....meh.
Starting the rally there was as rough as i thought it would be, but i just tried to keep it clean and get through it.
86th place after 6 stages.

Then i really pushed through Finland, climbing my way up and destroying the car in the process.
Got up to 9th by stage 12.

Though i was having clean stages through Wales and Greece, the beat up car was holding me back quite a bit, never getting fixed quite enough at each service.
Got up to 7th after 18, and 6th after 24.

Fun times, Love DirtRally.

Much the same as the previous poster, just further back in the pack.
Picked the Hyundai as I've foundt it's a fun car that I haven't driven much previously.

Monaco: Completely off the pace on the tarmac bits, without any major incidents to blame. #84
Finland: Didn't have a setup. That cost me dearly as I had no traction and smashed a rear wheel early on a stage 8. Down to #146. Improved the setup somewhat, but found out that instead of sliding the car now wanted to flip over. So we did that a couple of times. #87
Wales: Screwed up the final corner-jump-thingy on Dyffron Afon Reverse and got reset. Apart from that I was pretty close to the current leader's stage times. #42
Greece: Didn't have a setup here either, but the Wales setup did the trick. Picked a few places per stage and got up to #26.

All in all fairly satisfied as I consider Monaco, Finland and Greece (in that order) my three worst locations, and 2010s is obviously the class that has the most drivers.

Time to revive this thread! Oh wait, it is the most un-competitive and saddest car class in the game up this time.

the "Take Alpine or LOSE" class. Also Alpine is the only car that can accelerate up the steep parts of stages, while other 2 bleed speed.

So, of course i took the Mini, because with a Fulvia i won't even break the top 100, whether i like the amazing V4 sound or not. :/

I picked the Mini for this monthly as well. With the exception of a little understeer into rocks moment at SS3, it went very well... then something caused the game to tab out to Windows during SS6, and I couldn't get back in? Had to close down the game, I'm probably locked out of the monthly now. Not entirely sure, but if so... I had fun while it lasted. The Mini is an amazing car.

VIVA LA MINI! Oh dammit i have to wait a long while until next six stages... -_-

Apart from a pretty bad error on.. SS2.. 3? Breakdanced a bit mid-stage due to aggressive cutting, but beyond that did reasonably well among the sea of Alpines. I was the only Mini in the top100 at the time when i posted my revive message. Now there's  tiny bit more, but still a sad sight.

Y u no make changes Codies?

I will also join the Mini Monthly! (Both in terms of car and number of contestants.)
Well, there are still 27 days left so there probably will be more contestants :D

Oh, look... the next six stages in the monthly is Germany. This will be fun in a car with a topspeed of 165 kph.

(it actually was fun, all stages were a breeze)

Oof, the long straights with the Mini - had to fight my attention span from making me snooze during those! D:
As far as making a dumb braking mistake on stage 2 - a minor one, but annoying. Beyond that - very clean and relaxing.

I messed up and lost focus for a second and went off the cliff in Greece into a DNF zone :-/

Currently a minute behind @Snaky115 after 12 stages, mainly from bumping into stuff in Greece.

In early access I was relatively good in the Mini. Apparently not anymore. :-/

You're probably overdriving it. I focus mainly on clean lines and good exit speeds and it has put me in 31st place thus far. Always make sure you max the gear ratios too.
