I'm quite happy with my monthly stage times in the Mk2 Escort. But, as we saw from last week's weekly, we've got a new player (cheater) in town, taking a minute here and 50 seconds there per stage. He pretty much owned jl1 last week, which just goes to show what an utter cheat he is. He's known as sylwesterp. I lost lots and lots of time to him on the greek stages, I'm positive he found a way to take shortcuts or something. Luckily, however, I managed to set an absolutely blazing time on the month's 12th stage... one of my better drives in the Escort. Naturally I recorded it, and will upload and share with yous soon. Anyway, I actually managed to hold sylwesterp at bay for the time being, but I have a feeling that if Codemasters won't do anything about this exploiting guy, a lot more lowlives will follow his example... and the daily, weekly, and monthly challenges will just not be any fun anymore.

Funnily enough, Stage 12 is the best stage I've done so far too. Took 2.5 secs out of you in there @Porkhammer. Only 2.7 secs in it with 12 stages to go haha 

not sure how I'll do on the monte stages though. I just can't get to grips with the Tarmac (pun not intended) and I've not driven the Mk2 on Monte. Best get some practice I guess ;)

Yeah I lost some time in the final uphill section... no revs! I should set the car up next time to get some decent gear ratios. Best of luck in Monte, I know I will need some luck there as well.

Ah, greetings everyone. I suspect i might be the rare Keyboard driver sneaking into the high places at the moment, to my own surprise. 
Two relatively great weeks for me in the Monthly, but now comes Monte! (uh oh) I just spin on Monte with a lot of cars, mostly when releasing throttle or cornering without throttle, which makes me lose a lot of speed. (only exception was Subaru in the Twitter League, sigh)

Porkhammer's video... Holy... Now i can stop wondering how some people get 30-40 seconds on me in a single stage. O_O

Glad to have you aboard, Snaky115! My advice for you against spinning in Monte (at least in corner entries, and providing you drive with a manual gearbox) is to brake long on high gears, and only shift down right before the turn. It saved me lots in tailhappy cars!

It seems i chose correctly with the Fiat 131, this thing grips! Woohoo! Might stabilize my position in the Monthly, unless i start ADHD'ing again, which is a great way to miss a braking point! Thinking about which pizza i want instead of braking. (oops)

I have the same problem, haha. My mind can wander to the most bizarre line of thoughts while driving. Normally my subconscious driving kicks in during those moments, but when it doesn't... off I go!

Ok so the next 6 stages are up. This is where I expect to lose a lot of time to @Porkhammer as i'm pretty rubbish at the Monte Carlo stages. I've got a good tarmac setup though, so hopefully with a few clean runs I won't lose too much.

Nah you won't lose any time to me. I have no setup at all, the little I did test I had understeering and oversteering all in one lovely package.

Yeah I found a really good tarmac setup. It's a bit jittery on the snow and ice parts though, but I'll happily take that compromise. Right now I'm taking a small break before doing the last stage - never been so pissed off at the game before. :) It's my driving that frustrates me. Some sections are so perfect, and I have a good rhythm. Next thing I know I'm bumping into every single thing on the track. Been shouting too much now. Haha.

Well now my monthly is complete. I had lots of fun finishing up at the welsh stages, though the car felt a bit slow towards the end for some reason, as if it was lacking power. Still, I did my best... and I hope it's enough for a podium finish eventually. :)
