The Dirt weekly thread

How do you drive the stratos on Tarmac? There's literally no FFB on it.
yeah. You need to raise SAT and Tyre friction to get a bit more info.

Stratos FFB is very very light ATM. At least you can barely follow what the rear does.

Correction: I said the 70's cars are now equal in performance, and the Stratos feels better than the Opel. ;) (to me)

The Stratos has very narrow front tyres, maybe they are trying to give that sensation?

My sat is on 150% and tyres at 110 lol.
hahahaaha .. no more room then. Raise the wheel input to, lets say, 90volts xD

That will be stronger enough.

Sure it's an ARC mod, it's running off a small nuclear power plant!

Started the 70s weekly, tried to go with the 131 Abarth (it's the only one i have lol), retired on the third stage after hundreds of unexpected crashes and spins...
Seriously, what the heck is going on with the tarmac physics? you have tons of traction and no lateral grip whatsoever, the car is constantly doing micro slides everywhere, it's unpredictable as ****

Lol yes, that's why I'm disappointed with the lack of FFB! Glad I'm not on my G25 anymore.

wish the fiat was the quickest as its just a really good car and fun.
Aah, the Fiat Abarth. My favourite car.

Pretty much. As soon as we can convince people that tarmac is garbage it'll hopefully be fixed. It's infuriating to drive.

Yeah I had to improve my awful 5:56 on Frauenberg with it and managed a 5:51! I will re-do the weekly later tonight and not crash into stuff on every stage.

Well... I've now re-done it. With the exception of a noob mistake on SS2, I had a pretty good run through. Did it all in one sitting. There's still time to be had though. By no means unbeatable. Arf.

I believe our camera man has seen the light with all this Stratosing around on tarmac. ;) Only seven seconds behind me.

I started the second weekly this morning - 80's RWD. This is very, very challenging. My concentration only lasts for about one stage at a time, so doing two at a time really fries my brain. I did SS1 and 2 this morning (Finland), and just did SS3 and 4 in Greece. I have never been so relieved upon reaching service & save and exit before. This is hard - and I'm loving it.

I wouldn't say it's garbage (in V1 it was impossible for me to drive the 70s and 80s on tarmac), but it definitely isn't finished. Calling it "Work in Progress" is I think the best way of describing the current state of tarmac physics.

@G37L057  Describing the current state of tarmac physics is not something I'll do here as this is a friendly forum. :p Personally I prefer V1 by a mile simply because the car movement was spot on.

Anyway. Finished my second weekly. Crashed on the final stage by driving too close to a wall. Car stopped dead in its tracks. Had to reverse and whatnot, lost at least 15 seconds and I believe overall victory by the time rampage is done, but we'll see.

I agree, the car movement was indeed spot on, but the grip loss behaviour... was a deadly miss. Very deadly in fact. Just finished a Monte Carlo in championship with Delta S4 without any upgrades (apart from advanced setup), and the car felt really good... up until it started losing grip. Fuse V1 grip with V2 progressive loss of that grip and we'll be having the perfect thing I believe. Or at least something very close to it.

Anyway, did the 70's weekly... with a non-upgraded Escort. Went surprisingly well, though obviously no chances for victory. I hope I'll stay in Top 100 xD

Finished both weeklys yesterday. Did the 80s one in a Sierra (it still needed one upgrade), In almost all races had some stop-go crashes, so I thought I was doing bad, but looking at the results I was middle of the top tier so fine by me :D I kinda like the sound Sierra makes, when it hits the rev limiter :d
Did the 70s one in the Kadett (again, it was missing an upgrade). Drove pretty cleanly. I don't really have a problem with the tarmac. It might not be realistic, and FFB is a bit too weak (I know, you can increase SAT, but I don't want to change it back and forth all the time) but atleast I can drive pretty decently on it :) Ended up 106th (so far) out of 2140 or so people, which is nice (top 5% :D)
Did both weeklys without any practice. Hadn't played dirt for a week and a half before that, jumped right in to 80s weekly :D

I was leading the 60's weekly, but that queen sabrina fellow kept resetting his until he beat me. It's a bit embarrasing being beat by a fellow referring to himself as "queen" driving with chase cam and assists, so I'll just erase those results...

I think it was my best weekly with 2010s. I was keeping 7-8th place till last stage...I just hate the second part of Perasma Platani (the descenting one). Ofcourse crashed there and lost it...for now 11th place which's quite good result for me.

Just did my first weekly for ages, I don't usually have the cars; you can restart?!?

What is this? Is that a new thing? Not a fan of that idea.

Was worse before. I didn't see a mid-stage "Save and Quit" on my only 2010s attempt, which was there last time i tried weeklies. Sure, the global restart option in the Events menu is still there, but eh, i think that is okay.
