The Dirt weekly thread

.. The last stage was night and snowing. Here I just turned off the headlights near the beginning of the stage (nothing was wrong with them), and now I could actually see the track instead of the snowflakes flying into my face
Pretty common trick when driving in snow (or fog) at night that! (At least driving with low beams instead of high beams.)

Still, good thinking for turning them off. I must try to remember that myself if I find to the weekly in these pre-xmas times.

Driving without a wheel is painful right now, and it makes stages like Sweden almost impossible to be anywhere near competitive.

Roll-on the January sales, for the love of shite!

Did my first serious weekly now, 19th overall in the Escort. I'm mighty pleased with that, it included me trying to bury the poor car in the snow a couple of times, and spun more times than I can count (I only got 10 fingers and 10 toes..)

So in the 10 weekly drove the polo 200 kmh through the finish line with flying finish since the stage did not stop to the finish line. Run over the poor people standing after the stop sign. Thank god there was an ambulance near by. So after finish line got recover vehicle text and after the time, got recovered on front of the finish line.

That's a feature, you should drive up to the marshalls and @KickUp needs to give them the timecard.

Weekly 1: Choosing my precious Sierra, as it kicks major butt. Wait what... no car setup. Oh. Well... yeah. Some mistakes here and there, but no spins or anything, which is good. I would really prefer my own setup for it though, as I'm a lot quicker with it.

Weekly 2: What, not a single Mini Countryman in the top ten?! Well, I decided to change that since it's pretty quick if you drive it correctly, plus it's very rugged and sounds awesome. But, again... no setups. Lots of understeer in Sweden, but by the time I reached Finland I had it figured out...ish - and, upon reaching Monaco.... the default setup turned absolute beast. By far the best default setup I've ever felt on tarmac. It felt almost - almost - like V1 again. I could push the car very hard and pulled away a little more, and even got away with a handful of mishaps.

Weekly 1: Oh god, the Sierra. Have to practise more, I guess. Undriveable for me.

Weekly 2: I chose the Hyundai after the terrible experience with the Polo in stock setup and really liked it a lot. Didn't change anything, just drove and finished with a few spins here and there. Not a great result, because I still don't know the swedish stages and I used this as an upgrade run for the car. So I had only 220 or 230 hp and finished well down the order. But you know: results, shmesults...

Just noticed you can't reset weeklys anymore :( For how long has that been the case? Did the 2010s weekly with a stock Polo, am on the edge between top and mid tiers (if I go down just by 7 places, I'll be in mid tier :D). On the 1980s weekly did a lot better, drove the BMW, and currently I'm 88th out of 1600

Yep, surprised me, too. Gave up on the Sierra after I realized that. Maybe they could alternate, or set up one weekly with and one without restarts.

Did the Group B RWD Weekly, with the Lancia 037. Basically you drive like everything is ice. Ice is ice, tarmac is ice, your tires are ice :D I just don't feel confident in that car, but the result, at least so far, seems ok

Finished the R4 weekly. Wasn't driving in Greece for a long time.
Pretty good event for me, one ditch with +15s in stage before last stage.

God****it Porky. :D

Greece weekly went quite well, only 1 noteworthy moment of timeloss. Really really enjoyed battle with Renku.
You did set quite a sweet time on SS6 though, well done!

It's not over yet, but it looks good for my first top 100 result. Currently 81st with the Opel Manta 400. Woohoo! Progress!

Thanks, I gave it all trying to pass Renku. In the end that succeeded by 0,3 second.

Did the Group B weekly at the start of the week and just now finished the 2000s weekly. For Group B I upgraded the Lancia Delta S4, by doing some custom championships. While doing that, also got the "Self made Millionaire" achievement, which is nice :D Also, the championships helped getting more used to the car, which helped in the weekly. (I usually do many countrys, few stages in those custom ones). In the weekly did fairly good.

In the 2000s weekly wanted to drive with the C4, so I started upgrading it, but only did a few races, it was at 2/5, when I started the weekly. In the second race I punctured a wheel somewhere and ragequit (already wasn't feeling too happy after the two mediocre dailys), started the game back up, reset the event alltogether and took the Focus 2001, which was fully upgraded. In the first stage only gained 5 seconds over the C4, even though it was 2/5 and Focus was 5/5. But since I had no intention to restart again, I just went with the Focus. In the end could have been better, but that'll do :D

Took the Delta S4, too. Not completely upgraded at the start. 157th of more than 3000 so far. I'm happy with that, considering about half of the guys in front of me took the Peugeot 205.

Ford Focus 2007 in Finland: Better place, but less competitors. Surprised to finish in the top 10 percent, because I still feel like a novice in Finland.

Despite the somewhat weird tarmac handling the Group B weekly was fuuuuuun! As always I did something stupid on the final stage to send me plummeting down the ranks.

Started the 2000s weekly last night. Wanted to drive the C4, but the default setup for that car is beyond horrible, and I didn't have the time to find or make one myself. So took the Focus and jumped through Finland. It has to be said, that Focus is awesome for getting it's (incompetent) driver out of hairy situations. Still, as always I did something stupid (twice) on the final stage to send me plummeting down the ranks.

Saw the Kit Car Finland weekly, thought i would slowly upgrade my Pug Maxi for once.

Retired on the SECOND jump in the first split with a rear puncture. Can't reset event. Couldn't even change my setup before starting too, wouldve avoided the silly puncture probably. The hell ...

Go into even details then reset.

One of the two weeklies tends to get no reset chance, haven't done many,  This time its the Kit Car/Finland i retired that doesn't have the reset.
