The Dirt weekly thread

Saw the Kit Car Finland weekly, thought i would slowly upgrade my Pug Maxi for once.

Retired on the SECOND jump in the first split with a rear puncture.
After 20 to 30 seconds into the stage, I slid too far on the right side of the track and straight into a tree. There wasn't even a big jump or a corner! Seriously, I have no idea how I did that.

I was doing pretty well as i understand a little more about FWD physics (i really should drive this car outside of events, i don't)
Anyway, Maxi, went well until i started puncturing nearly every tyre after 3 stages in, seriously, not sure i ever had less than one or two punctures any any one time.

I have a question.

Isn't personal set up allowed in weekly event or there's something wrong in my game? I can understand in a daily event, but why locking set up for a car that I own and use very often?
I found Gr.A Integrale standard set up very difficult for me. And if tuning is really locked... well I think is a very stupid choice.

So, i've never reset an event before, i've never found the option for it, can anyone help out? (i'm doing more racenet testing)

Thanks.

This is on the dirt website, right?
Never mind, i found it in game, though, looking at the monthly, it says i should have stage retry, but i only see an option for event reset.

Then you're good, I can't cancel retiring and try one more time. If only I'd knew...
@Hatward is this normal? I simply don't have an option to restart event in details.

In the second stage crashed, poped some tires, so I just ragequit mid stage. I think I also had some bad dailys that day, so the mood wasn't that high. Couple of days later I continued the weekly and it said 1/6 stages. When I started it I was back at stage 1 with a broken car.
Anyway, had some clean ones, and also had some crashes in some stages.

The weirdest one was in the second stage (one with the rain). Right at the beginning the game lagged a bit and made me crash (I think I also did a flip), but after that the rain started fizzling when hitting the ground (like bright white flashes all over the road), and you could see those even when the game was paused. Didn't seem to affect the framerate, but still weird, something I had never seen before. After that stage everything went back to normal.

Aw, poop, no setup OR whole event restart for both weeklies ... Hmph... Harsh.

I did not notice the 1st Monte stage is the long one, so i had a beautiful high speed retirement when the usual half stage would end. :D

I tried doing the F2 weekly, but I can't concentrate for six stages in a row, so it just didn't happen. Crashed on SS3 in the final corner and just turned the game off.

IMHO no service to setup your car in weekly events is unfair and is favorizing players who're using only default setups and don't care about spending time in service area and then practicing one driving style in particular setup. I understand that solution in dailies with various cars everyday, but weekly where you also have to own that car? It makes no sense to me. If I own a car it's pretty obvious that I'll have an experience with my custom setups and if someone don't - then it should be an occasion for him to do some.

I don't have patience to drive GR.A with Gravel suspension in monte...tried that but failed on second stage.

I think I need a break from online events and focus more on the game experience in single player. Probably if this is not changed I'm going to drop the online events for good cause it's making me quit the game instead of enjoy it more.

Sorry for the negative vibe but I've needed to get the rage out of me somewhere.

Well, if it's equal for all then it isn't unfair... I'd love to have the ability to setup my car though

Did the second weekly. Drove a non-upgraded Escort. Handles really nice actually. Had a few rolls (in two of the six stages, iirc), despite the lack of power, I'm somewwhere at the bottom half of top tier, which isn't bad for a stock car :)

I have all the rally cars and they're fully upgraded now, It was really rewarding to have somewhat competitive times in the events when they had no upgrades, I love that about Dirt Rally

It isn't, because some people know a way to change default setup and they're using it to have an advantage.
Besides that, it's not fair because if you spend 700 hours playing on custom setup, how the hell are you supposed to play on default setups whole week and monthly events? I'm really tired of this, and how I've said before - it makes me quit the game which's probably not the most wanted thing by the game experience designers.

I see your point, you're right

Started the Finland stages in the 306.  Even without a setup, it really works so well on the first stage, you nearly don't have to lift anywhere!  Any competent driver could drive it virtually full throttle with a few light dabs of left foot brake, as I did.  Really nice run!
11 secs off the pace on a virtually flat sprint stage apparently - retired.
