What are Australian fence posts made of, anyway? Some kind of car kryptonite covered in spider web? Brush it with the side of the car and it jerks the car to a standstill no matter the speed, but if you slowly come at it with the front it folds easily. :-/

Apart from that, and the phone calling on stage 2, it was an enjoyable weekly. Group A is fun.
Yeah the fences in Australia are nasty. It's because the mesh part is super weak so it might as well not be there, so if your rear hits a post the car just spins round and gets wedged between posts. If the whole fence was as solid as the posts it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

BMW represent!! Oof... that fog... Video soon of ALL 6 stages, gameplay.

EDIT: maybe video not so soon, slightly borked it in rendering and mightve accidentally lost the original, oops.
Yup, lost the footage by accident. Oopsies.

I failed the 205 GTI weekly last week because of bad notes, and I failed the R5 weekly this week because of bad notes. I only complete my weekly events if they're flawless (yes, I started to demand this tiny requirement from myself) so going off road or spinning because the notes are garbage is unacceptable.

Please, look into the notes. This is extremely tiring.

Weekly 1, Group B RWD, Australia - done. Picked the 037. Driving slowly and carefully. Only by the time I reached SS6 had I built up some confidence in the car and setup. The fog stage was god awful. I couldn't see, and I had to drive at like 30 kph to even finish the stage. Anyway, SS6. Wanted to push a little. Made mistakes that costed me like 15 seconds.

Whatever. Should put me in the top 100 at least.

Try to record the place where the notes are completely wrong. Maybe they can adjust the note of the specific tile.

Took the 037 and handled it with care...
The wet & foggy stages were a challenge and when it got dry I had too much confidence...but the 037 is fun and way better to handle in D4 than in DR. Don't know what position I#m in at the moment as it can't be checked on the website (yet).

Did quite well in the Monthly with the Renault but forgot to take a spare tire with me and when I had a puncture on the front I had to retire...until then it was pure pleasure to drive the renault on tarmac and my position was very good... With a puncture on the front the car was just undrivable and it happened about a minute after the start on a long stage...

H2 RWD Historic weekly, Australia - done. Picked the Mk2 Escort, against my better judgement. I don't like how the Alpine sounds or handles, the Fiat feels like it weighs 96 tons, and the Kadett also sounds awful. Of course I pick the Escort out of all those!

I did the right call, however. I have @KevM to thank for getting the car to feel somewhat decent. I followed some of his setup tips in the physics discussion thread, and managed to get the Mk2 to act somewhat like it is supposed to.

My only incidents came on SS3, where I had numerous close calls, and eventually spun out on a very narrow part of the stage. However, I just had to drive in the opposite direction briefly and pull the handbrake, and she came right around.

The rest of the stages were relatively painless, and even enjoyable.

Both weeklies failed.

In the R2 weekly I got a really late call right at the end of the stage; slid off the road and had to untangle the car from a tree. Alt-f4.

In the H3 or whatever the fuck they're called I was off twice on the first stage in the first 3 corners. Alt-f4.

So basically I'm useless.

Man, if we could get some more blind turns in Australia that are called as 5's but are actually borderline 3's... that'd be great.  I got nailed by this in both the weekly and the recent Evo IV daily events.  I feel like the pacenote system could really use a "plus" and "minus" addition to numbers.

Weekly 1 with the Metro was slow and careful. Weekly 2 in the Hyundai was also slow, but I didn't get far, anyway. I alt-f4'd SS1. My new gaming chair keeps rolling away when driving. Need to figure out how to tell the wheels on it to **** off.

I have the same problem porky. For now I've solved it OK'ish by putting some old protective foam inlays from fencing gear under the rear wheels of my chair (there are instances where D4 needs more rear grip :-D ). I'm considering getting some rubber linings or something similar to put behind the chair as a stopper, but haven't found anything really suitable yet.

Tried doing the Group A weekly in Michigan without FFB. Puncture on SS3, late note on SS4 causing me to run wide - avoiding trees but slamming into a generator.

Alt-f4.
LOL. Was no FFB on accident or were you testing?

I know of this generator you speak of, foul yellow box

I have to run without FFB or it wobbles the desk and HDMI cable too much causing my monitor to cut out randomly mid-stage.
