Dirt 3 (PC) Split Screen Setup

Hi!

I'd like to use the split screen mode of Dirt 3 Complete Edition (PC/Steam). Is it possible using one gamepad and one keyboard, or are two gamepads the only supported setup?

I tried using  VJoy to emulate a second gamepad but wasn't able to get past the screen asking player 2 to press start (even though all buttons on the virtual gamepad were responsive in Windows Control Panel).

Any assistance would be very much appreciated :)
