F1 2015 GamePlay at E3!

What's the point of starting on the grid if you don't take of for the formation lap? You are on the grid and then you skip to the race. So far for immersion.

that's becaus flashy TV style stuff with original commentator voices is much more important und useful than real gameplay and racing features

I think a Formation lap could be easily integrated. you could still put in a cutscene from last Corner to grid. That way you don't have to Programm the AI to find their grid Position correctly...

one good thing though, I have to admit, is the possibility to watch the other cars from the box in TV style  now. I think that's very useful

I only wish you can drive with the AI in Cockpit view, like you could in Crammond's GP series...

Since Shaun Cole left... things at inside sim racing have not been the same. Like the infamous F1 2014 review by Darin who named it a simulator and had no idea Rubens Barrichello had already been retired. Not a very good authority in sim racing anymore. lol

I've watched the wet race gameplay and they're climbing all over the kerbs as normal with no spin or loss of traction. I'd of expected it to look harder with the rain but I couldn't see too much difference in the handling, or is that just me?

The guy did a 1:22:xx on intermediates around Brazil, while being just 'normal' (or even a bit worse) at the game. Q1 and Q2 times were 1:25/1:26 back in 2013 so yeah.. the cars are way quicker in the rain than they are supposed to again.

I think the graphics look great, esp. since they are filmed through a camera and not the original. There is some pop in. About 1:43 on that spa track the shadow of the tree pops across the track. You can expect that sort of stuff on a new engine though and with refinements it should get better.

Also I was a bit surprised about the lack of tyre marks on the track on the spa replay. When I run 2013 there are normally tyre marks all over the place, esp. at the corners. Either its because I always run in TT  mode and spend hours on the track locking the wheels up ... or maybe its because its harder to lock the wheels on this version.

Is it just me or the AI looks pathetic as ever? Pulling out of moves by braking 100m too early, inability to race wheel-to-wheel and so on. I know it's probably not the highest difficulty but it doesn't bode well.

What I did like from the gameplay video's, is the replay video of Spa Francorchamps. It's almost exactly the camera angles you see on television. Not the flying-with-the-car kinda replay, but actual broadcast replay. That looked great!

Is it just me that thought Spa looked a bit wrong? The lighting looked amazing (first video I had noticed the difference at all without looking at comparisons, it was obvious straight away it looked great.) but from the exit of Les Combes all the way around until you get onto the straight back up towards Blacnhimont it looks wrong. You don't get the sense of elevation change (the drop down into Rivage in particular is almost non existent) and the whole track looks too wide.

They have resurfaced the track around the pit entry which the guy completely cut, and in Q1-Q2 times are off the pace depending on how drivers want to treat their tyres and their cars over the course of the weekend, that's my opinion anyways also this guy is probably using full assists with penaltys off, or else he should of got a penalty (I think anyway) for cutting the pit entry section.

Not too impressed with the AI (Verstappen's) overtaking skills to be honest. Certainly not as bad as in the past but the AI could have done much better considering how much off the pace the guy playing was.
