Arguriou
Is the Road to wide ?And the Physics for RWD just bad...Are you sure about this ?
Rallycameraman
The road width is accurate to its real world location. And what's wrong with the physics? RWD cars don't constantly slide around in the wet in the real world. Trust me i've been on plenty of boring rallies with many many escorts to vouch for that. TPJP
What's with some people complaining about a wider width of the stage? It feels like they want all stages to have their roads as wide as the car itself, which is not always the case in real life.

I complained that a lot about DiRT 2 and DiRT 3, as well as the fact that you could just floor the throttle on a lot of the stages. This time around we're getting a much better set of tracks, especially with respect to having camber issues on them, so having some be a bit wider won't be the issue it was in the previous versions. Rallycameraman
People will probably complain about Finland too when that's released in the future, as those roads can be very wide in places.
Arguriou
You cannot compare Finnland with Germany !!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-bm0Wo__MAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQoHQty2CpkAnd both is not so wide !!!This is not like real life what i saw in the first video !!!The location in the Game IS TO WIDE !!!!!And the Physics is to arcade in the videoARCADE !!! YoMrWhite
This (clip above) is the part of the rally which is located in the Mosel vineyards. The stages in dirt rally take place in the "Panzerplatte" territory, I think. These are much wider indeed.

Evilsmurf
This is a quote from the Game Dev from a few weeks back.KickUp said:PiotrAS191 said:RallyDriven: I wanna see that ok. 5,5 metres wide road in the forest on the google maps, could you give me the coordinates ? :)I recommend you to watch some rally germany onboards and compare it to the game..http://goo.gl/maps/evSI2The road is hard to see from Satellite as trees are covering it a bit. We watch plenty of onboard footage when making our stages but we spend more time actually at the location of the stage measuring track widths and taking tens of thousands of photographs. Baumholder was really special as we had to be escorted around to avoid tank training exercises. Onboard video can be really deceptive as the Field of View can distort measurements so we use a tape measure when we go to the locations to make sure we get it just right. I hope that clarifies things.

Germany is based on Panzerplatte/Baumholder military range. The roads in there can be very wide, go on WRC+ and watch some incar from last years Rally Deutchland. All the roads are 100% accurate real world width. And the physics aren't ARCADE, as you so eloquently put it.
RodgerDavies
Panzerplatte is a military proving ground, some of the roads have to be capable of having tanks pass each other; tanks are quite wide. 2x tanks are wider. In fairness, this is why I'd rather have seen the vineyard stages around the valley, but I'm certainly not going to complain when these arrive. That will be one of four sections, in the video above.
Arguriou
The Dirt Rally is a sim. And after the last update (FFB) is in the direction to be the right sim. dgeesi0
the video is from the wrong patch that went out. so before ffb patch. i drove most of the germany stages before it was re patched and i like them. cant wait for there release.

The codemasters team measured the width of the road themselves. It is not too wide. It is accurate. If you think it's too wide then you should take it up with the German military for building such wide roads.
Porkhammer
What is it with these people that think that all rally stages are narrow... there are so many wide tracks out there. Hell, they probably outnumber the narrow ones. Anyone thinking differently is wrong. It's that simple.

For some reason it made me think of the time Delecour shouted at his co-driver (was it Grataloup still with him after that horrible accident in Australia?) in Rally GB. He was driving a Mitsubishi, it was the early 2000's... ah, found it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gluw35vKqAThat's how I imagine Argirou shouting. Makes perfect sense.
