Proper gameplay finally out

Recommended Posts

Freaking ARCADE once again. Full assists on, awesome job, Lee! Look at the start, the acceleration out of corners, the overpowered grip at any time.

Not that I expected something else anyway. Lame.

Looking very good. I hope that Codemasters change those 3D driver pictures to real pictures of drivers.

How physics are improved? Is there that track going better and better with time?

yeah looks and sounds good although I'll be waiting till it's in the bargain bin as ditching career mode for a little extra commentary is nowhere near enough for me.

Who cares about looks and sounds when we want an F1 simulator? Oh, and if you don't want that you controller and keyboard fags can turn your assists on again.

I wasn't even talking about assists so I don't know why you flagged me. Secondly everyone has their own preferences I was just saying the extra commentary based on what I'm seeing here doesn't justify the removal of career mode to me so will be waiting till it's at bargain bin prices

Simulator? Lolwut?

Even a game like PCars is nowhere compared to games like iRacing and rFactor so it's your fault for expecting a simulator out of an official F1 game.

If you want an F1 simulator, your only choice is rFactor Pro. Anything that you or I can actually afford to run our PCs, on the other hand, is always going to be a poor to middling approximation of that at best.

People seem to forget the the Codies team need to appeal to a broad spectrum of gamers. They're not just looking at the sim/PC market. And don't go on about implementing a hardcore mode and an arcade mode, sometimes it just not as easy as that.

I've noticed that as well people seem to forget that CM are a relatively small group compared to a lot of games companies. Yes they've been around a long time but that doesn't automatically make them big. They just do the best job they can with what resources they have whilst I admit they've struggled a fair bit recently. For the most part though I think they've done OK. Tbh my only complaint really with F1 2015 is the lack of career mode because the rest of it looks pretty good. Had career mode stayed I probably would have paid full price based on what I've seen. It's only the fact that career mode has been removed that's made me have to rethink if it's reinstated later again in 2016 or whatever then maybe I'll come back to buying at full price but with 2015 I'll be waiting till it's bargain binned before I consider it.

At long last, some actual representative gameplay!!

This is what we wanna see Codies, not screenshots, not teaser trailers. Actual proper gameplay, with the true sounds, full on boards, with the HUD.

And it looks great! The teaser didn't show the game off but this does, congrats.

@Restricted watch your choice of words in your future comments please...

Copy/paste code of F1 2013/14 and have it as "arcade mode"  then make new code for a hardcore sim.

not a problem for the codemasters, the masters of code!

I think I'll kind of have to agree with you there. Also on the subject the texture mapping, or lighting, or something on the models doesn't seem quite right. Especially compared to the cars and tracks in the game which are mind-blowing. The contours are pretty close - enough you can tell who's who but they look like corpse's or pastel powdered mannequin versions of themselves or something XD. Small complaint of course as I know I couldn't do any better..

Well that very nearly got me thinking whether to purchase this game. Unfortunately The rain still comes down straight, the wet smudges on the camera just stays there even at speed. And how come the AI are glued to the track again, whereas the player is losing the back end on most corners. It's the same as all the others so no way as this been developed from the ground up on a new game engine. Adding more scenery and higher textures doesn't cut it. It's the attention to detail that makes a game. so I doubt it very much if the unfortunate pit crew are going to get umbrellas. :)

Driving an f1 car is not that hard it has awesome grip due to downforce when the setup is right and tires are working.

it the intangibles like g-force, winds, track conditions and other elements like tires degradation throttle control braking all these things can affect the stability and performance.

driving to it limit and pushing hard that's when it becomes a difficult task.

graphics have a made a big step which is no surprise due to next gens better hardware. The AI has made a massive improvements by the look of it they look so much better in turn 1 (you can’t overtake 10 cars in one corner) and the AI look much more aggressive better at overtaking and defiantly more challenging than in previous games. I just hope they have fix the safety cards because I very rarely saw a safety car in previous games even when I cause pile up in Monaco. I hope you can choose whether to under fuel or over fuel your car like in previous games because I felt it mixed up the strategy of it. I’m glad they have brought back front wing adjustment and they brought in tyre pressure so much more tactical thing you can now tweak! Anyway I can’t wait for the game and I think it is going to be awesome.

Rear view mirrors are a joke again, have a look at them going through sector 3 in the stadium section,  absolutely no scenery at all !!

You're in a race, not out for an afternoon drive. As long as you can see where the competitors are, then what's the issue?

Same Codies effort with better graphics.  AI have no traction issues, even when fighting for position in the wet? Car bounces off the walls, curbs have little affect on stability.  Team objective for the race is unreasonable.  Engineer says same things. Slipstream seems OP. And im sure that the tyre wear for the AI isn't as bad as it is for the player.

I thought they were cooking up a storm but it seems they just reheated last nights dinner.
