FFB update + DEFORMED steering lock angles + focus to basically steering problems

I've watched several videos with and without the new FFB update and it looks/feels like as if the steering wheel is not directly connected with the steering axle.

It looks like a general problem (or just a gamepad optimization) that the FFB update doesn't focus.

I'll try to express my thoughts in a simple ascii graphic:

0% means centered wheel
100% means full lock (maximum steering)
0,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100%

Between 0% and 20% the car doesn't really want to react.
Between 20% and 30% the car suddenly reacts with an overdone steering.
The driver steers permanently from left to right to left to right...
...just to correct his own (but actually correct) steering...
...noticeable especially on tracks with tarmac...

There's actually a bug in the new ffb causing this for quite a few people. I noticed it too at first, on Pikes Peak, then Monaco and found it to be connected to the softlock slider in Vibration & Feedback menu. This slider somehow amplifies the twitchyness, but it's not causing it. I'm not using softlock anyway so I turned it down to 0, hence i don't suffer from this anymore. On other wheels however this seems to be either non-existent or people just don't notice, but for some it's also absolutely game-breaking. There are videos on youtube where you can see people driving in a straight line very slowly and the wheel turning lock to lock all the time without them even touching it.

Hi Chocoloco86. Please can you link to the videos you are talking about; it sounds very interresting.
I noticed a general problem with the steering (before AND after the FFB update) as described above.
An overdone steering between 20% and 30% that the driver doesn't expect and have to correct immediately.
A deformed, non linear steering in comparation to a real car.
You can see this behavior in each video in the first post.
In my opinion the FFB update doesn't focus the problem and is probably the wrong approach for solving the problem.
It seems to me that the DEFORMED steering lock angles are an optimization for gamepads...

I'm not always steering left to right etc... Only when I go round corners of course. 

Anyone else having ring to constantly correct the car when driving straight?
He might be on to something here. I've not driven all cars after the FFB update but the 2010 WRC are bahaving extremely twitchy around center of the wheel compared to before the update.

Can you see the unexpected overdone steering between 20% and 30% that the driver have to correct immediately?
