How do in memory fov values scale?

Been messing around with the fov, and the in memory values beyond the slider dont seem to make sense. Since it has been publicly acknowledged that devs will not extend the fov slider range, maybe help us out by explaining, how the values work. From 55 to 95 its a pretty obvious 13 ish every 5 degrees. Beyond the slider values things get weird. 

I am attaching a video that demonstrates the kind of cockpit view i'd have liked to have seen the game ship with. But having a proper fov requires more than just eyeballing it. Any info would be appreciated.
