Falstojudilofa 115 Posted July 21 Quote This video is actually for you weirdos who don't play stuff unless you have VR Just thought to share this video with you guys, partly because I had a big laugh at his impression of you guys at 50 seconds in, but also because I thought you'd like to see what is possible at the moment. Chipwich 0 Posted July 29 I've just gotten back into F1 sims after about a 10 year break. F1 2020 has really come a long way, and it does a masterful job of giving you the F1 weekend / career / team boss experience. It has a huge amount of playability beyond driving the car. The physics model is so much better than the gamepad derived models of the past, and I bet by simply adding a little more dynamic head movement, people would probably rave about it. It has a few minor things that could be better, but mostly they don't damper the race weekend. But as good as it is, when you are in the car driving, it gives up a lot not supporting VR. Driving the RSS Hybrid 2020 mod for Assetto Corsa with a community skin pack and Crew Chief in VR is huge. You feel as if you are really in the race car and can attack the circuit, especially compared to 2D from a T-can view, which I loath. Apexes, turn-in markers, and braking points are much easier to see and hit in VR. For me, VR is easily worth 2 to 3 seconds per lap. I get why people use the T-cam view, because they can't see the track sitting in the tub, and don't want to give up an advantage to everyone else using it. But in VR you can adjust your seat for better track visibility. The improved depth perception and sense of car rotation cancel out any T-cam or hoop riding advantage, IMHO. So for me, it's not a case of not buying one or the other. I enjoy both. F1 2020 is a complete F1 race team driver or owner experience, and AC/RSS F1 Hybrid 2020 / Crew Chief in VR is a superior driving experience.
mtbross 0 Posted July 31 I don't understand why F1 2020 doesn't support VR natively on PC. You have the license from the #1 motor racing series which represents the most cutting edge technology in motorsports. Please do your part and support the latest technology in gaming for this series. Enough delay already! Patch it in with an update and show you are listening to your customers. Great game otherwise.

If it's added at some point I'm sure it will be as a much promoted new feature of a future version of the game. However, I suspect Codemasters may think the likely relatively small increase in sales probably isn't worth all the work needed. Particularly if limited to PC. The introduction of next gen consoles my make it more likely.
mtbross 0 Posted July 31 Well that's a shame. I'm switching (FINALLY) from Xbox to PC...my build should be done in a week or so. Will figure out how to run the game in VR. I think there are multiple ways.
JerryChang 0 Posted August 12 Actually i don't mind about that
SASColfer 56 Posted August 14 I think they're waiting for the next engine update for the next-gen consoles to include VR. There must be a technical restriction on the current one that means it's just not feasible. The next engine could be ready for 2021 so not long to wait.
