Thanks for releasing the update on my birthday, Codemasters! I never would have thought anything cool would have ever been released on that day, but now there is!

There's not too much grip in tarmac at least. It feels really authentic and I really think that DiRT Rally wipes its ass with RBR in terms of tarmac physics if you want to compare these two games, even though they shouldn't be compared (tarmac physics sucked in RBR to be honest, and yes - I've played RBR for 6 years and done few world records in RBR-World).

Also the new cars are absolutely wonderful. You just can't be without smiling in the Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit-Car when the engine hits 11000rpm, you shift up and there's that exhaust bang. Just brilliant! :)
The physical characteristics of the WRC are very bad. It is impossible to continue skidding, the car loses power forever. I also played RBR for over 10 years, and the physical feel say they are much more real. I am sure that when a mod of this game, you'll be the first to download! ;)

I don't know if you're playing the same game as me, because the Fiesta WRC in DiRT Rally is maybe the best car in the game at the moment. The suspension behavior and grip is just like in WRC videos (but we're not talking about Monte-Carlo here, in my opinion Monte-Carlo has way too much grip at the moment). RBR is really great in physics department but it has many areas where DiRT Rally does a better job imo.

Also I don't think that this game will ever be modded the same way as RBR, because the files are encrypted and editing them would be really difficult I think (and that really is a good thing because otherwise the online mode would be horrible in future if everyone is running different physics aso).

PS. Put your hands on your steering wheel instead of your feet. That will help you to feel the game better ;)

Typical response from someone who can't reply properly. 'Oh enjoy your ARCADE game' yeah we've not heard that one before. Enjoy your 10+ years old RBR with its poor graphics and terrible sounds.

So because I have a different opinion than you (which I explained from my point of view) means I'm a child? I suggest you to stick to RBR then because your attitude doesn't help DiRT Rally to develop at all if you think that everyone disagreeing with you is a child. If you got offended by the last line of my message, I'm sorry then, it was meant to be a joke but seems like you're too "adult" to take it with humor ;)

Talking about childish behavior, did you really say DiRT Rally is arcade game? That should be in a compilation called "June Jokes 2015".

I went on-line after the update to claim credits from last weeks event.  My listing on the weekly went from top tier to bottom... not happy with that.

Plus, done some Welsh and Monte Carlo stages only to find my saved car settings are all messed up :disappointed:

After playing through the Baumholder stages, it just makes the hillclimb cars feel even more wrong :s

Hey Paul. I tried multiple stages (including all regions) with multiple cars. Car setups load fine on everything EXCEPT the new Germany stages...

Also I am getting a crash to desktop when I press Esc during a race. Others have mentioned this issue on here and the steam forums.

To me both of these things are game-breaking and I will wait for a fix. I am DYING to play. I just made an account here to hopefully get info on thes issue.

Nice update overall, thx.

The carpack is nice, I just hope we'll see at least one more car in the packs with only two, to make things a bit less binary.
The Manta and 037 are particularly fun to play with, their grip on tarmac seems correct. (I was positively surprised to see that the German tarmac wasn't too grppy -  now you just have to modify Monte so we can really "read the road", at least where there is snow/wet on it)

The Kit cars are ... challenging on the German stages (have to try on gravel).

One question though, haven't had time to test that yet: does Germany appear in the championships? would be good to have 4 rallies champs, or 3 with random  selection of the events.

Quite pleased with that one, I'll certainlly run another Gr.2/4 champ then, to developp the Kadett :)

The 2 tracks of Germany was better than I expected! Thumbs up for that.
I really like the small forestsection. Reflections from trees are always welcome.

The tracks from the menu seem to just have been thrown in there though, In the menu it currently looks something like this.
sprint-long-long-long-sprint-sprint-sprint-sprint-long-sprint-sprint. A mess.
That menu still needs an overhaul or the tracks need to be renamed ( I made a thread about how a while ago)

Did anyone check if the bug with the Ford(the first escort I believe) got fixed? The error where it gets stuck in first gear on automatic gearchange?

Next stop rallycross? Wake me up when Finland hits!

Loving it... now if you could add proper analogue (progressive input) handbrake support.. that would be amazing!

Like so many here I, too, have a RBR background but if given the choice I'll take Dirt Rally.  Got to hand it to CM, never expected them to come up with this gem. Sure there are faults, and I've voiced my concerns, but taking the game as a whole its brought a smile back to my face that only CM games seem to manage . .when they get it close to right.
There are some lovely gfx in this game, and that rarity, atmosphere . . . Monte Carlo, Wales, Greece, Germany . . .c'mon, guys, I know it and you know it, this game has ATMOSPHERE.
If CM give this one some effort and not bail out too soon we could have an absolute gem of a Rally game . . . it's looking good so far.

Oh! . .and, Alwert, do you really think we want your trolling here ?

obviously dirt rally has good things and small improvements may prove to be in the final game rallies. I definitely like this game. But I think the system should be further improved physical (design your own boss, so I recognized). A current WRC ofcourse you have a lot of grip, but we must also give the option to those riders who are more aggressive driving and skid more. In dirt rally is difficult skid. The car's stopping you own. Watch this video of a Ford Focus WRC:

http://youtu.be/Hy_QzG4nAHg

this drift is imposible in dirt rally....

No it's not . . . with the correct wheel rotation set, correct gear ratios, and diff., the "drifters" can do that. The new German track is ideal to get the cars drifting any corner.
One of the best drifters in the world is -ULTRA- Barbie [ she is a member of our site]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWFlQUA_4xo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgGP6z7sth0

There aren't many who can do this and this is the easy stuff for her . . .
. . . and she doesn't just do it in computer games, she has her own drift car.

I'm really really really really loving codemasters right now. Still downloading the patch and can't wait to fire this baby up.
