Recommended Posts

Might pick it up in September after it's updated and patched.
Will get it second hand or on sale for ps4.

Cancelled my pre-order a few days ago, kept meaning to do it for the past month or two.

May well get it when it's cheaper.

Judging by comments, it seemed here that quite a few were not that interested but with the amount who are pre-ordering, the poll is saying different.

I've pre-ordered it. I've enjoyed all the other games despite their drawbacks so I see no reason why I won't enjoy this one, even if I disagree with some of the cut content to an extent. Need another racing game, I'm all Forza'd out.

If we vote with our wallets, then pre-ordering or purchasing during launch week removes any incentive for game creators to release quality (or even functional) games & incorporate customer feedback into their releases.

I'll wait for proof that the game is worth my time & money before I consider buying it.

Do not pre order guys. It will be on eBay pretty soon since people will sell it very fast if they get that there's no career mode. Reviews will be bad because of this, I guess it will get 70 - 72%.
70-72% is nowhere near a "bad review" in my book.
Must have really low standards. <80% actually is not worth to buy except you have too much time. That's even the recommendation in game magazines, at least in Germany.

Pre-ordering on PS4 because of love for the F1 sport and what I've seen from gameplay videos is enough, even without career mode. Also gives another reason to use my PS4 again.  :p

Who cares about review scores. People need to learn to think for themselves and stop relying on other people to tell them what they should do. Besides, if you look hard enough you are bound to find a good and bad score for just about any game. A review score is nothing more than one persons opinion.

I have no idea how reviews work in your country but here reviews are a pretty good indicator and a honest way to protect people from spending money on crap games.

Yes but if the reviews are all saying the  same , good or bad, it gives you a kind of heads -up about things......

Just sounds like German magazines don't understand percentages. By definition, an average game should get 50%, a bad one somewhat less. If that's not the case, they shouldn't be using percentages to rate games.

I always pre-order the F1 games, I am to much of a fan to mis any installment. The ability to race the new circuit (Mexico) and have both 2014 and 2015 in the game was plenty to convince me to buy. So far everything I've seen in terms of video's have not changed my mind.

Of course it's disappointing not to have career, but 9 out of 10 times I never make it to season 2 before I get bored and restart the career.

So normal championship season should be fine as well. Only downside is not having my own name and different helmet in there.

I don't pre-order. Pre-ordering is pretty stupid and absolutely unnecessary.
And as it stands, I'm not buying the game at any point. At least not with the utter lack of in-depth infos so far and the missing career mode.

Review scores are absolutely meaningless. They are either bought (although I doubt CM have so much money to buy off press) or they are made by people who have no idea about F1. You'll get hardcore Need for Speed saying that F1 games are the best and hardest simulator they ever touched in their lives. Use your common sense when reading reviews.

Normally don't pre-order anything but if don't then miss out on the shiny metal box.

Actually I think I will miss out on the box even though it looks good.

I've changed my mind on f1 a few times. First wanted to pre-order because of the box. Then I got pcars and have been playing it solid. But what car do I drive the most in PCars ? The Openwheel and of course the most exciting of the openwheel is Formula A. So I spend a hell of a lot of time in formula A. So I think there is a place in my racing for F1 2015, esp since it has a lot of tracks pcars doesnt.

Sensible though to wait for the reviews to see what its like first. It's only a 5 minute pop down to sainsburys to buy it on day 1 if I feel the urge.

Who buys a game in a shop these days?

Also, there is plenty of gameplay footage out there now and the Inside Sim Racing guy gives his impressions in one of his videos.  I agree that press reviews are less relevant with driving games generally.  It's really about how much you're personally going to get out of the game.  That's a different question compared to an rpg or action game.  For me personally the footage and impressions I've seen so far are enough for me to pre-order. Simply because I want to play it as soon as possible.

I don't know whether it's just me, but I cannot find any of those recommendations in game magazines you mentioned and I'm from Germany myself. Additionally, reviews here don't work any different than in the UK, USA or elsewhere on this planet. It is ridiculous how you seem to decide which percentage is worth buying and which percentage indicates a bad game.

I used to play a lot of games below the 80% percentage and still enjoyed them and played them quite a lot and didn't regret buying them at all. If you think that reviews are a good indicator and honest way to protect people from unnecessarily spending money on games which they might not like coming from one single individual who maybe has different interests than you do, you should definitely think again.

People will never stop mourning, that's how it is. But maybe you should check out the videos of insidesimracing and listen to their round-up of their F1 2015 impressions, it's a review too, isn't it? As you will notice everyone who tested F1 2015 gave positive reviews until now. But yeah, people tend to look for the negative things if something doesn't go with their opinion...
