F1 2020 crashes after intro (AMD Phenom II)

Can't you do like in F1 2018 and Fix It?

Thanks.

I had misgivings that they were even doing this at the time. It was TWO YEARS AGO. It was old then, it's ancient now.

So, for your statistically irrelevant PC and for someone who did not check the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS or meet the MINIMUM SPECIFICATION you want the devs to rewrite code that potentially slows EVERYONE ELSES game down?

No, they will not fix it and no you should not be asking. Be as offended as you like. Being polite does not excuse you from not checking what you are buying, sorry.

Will mark as 'solved' but treating more as 'case closed' as the risk of sounding like Judge Judy.

You just made me laugh. 1100T's benchmark resulsts are way higher than the min. spec. I dont know why you mad :D?

@Hoo Can you Please at least take look and say that is it possible or not like you did in  F1 2018. Then you can close this post to any other replies.
Thank you.

Because the system reqs are same in 3 years, Benchmark results say that Phenom 1100T is better than FX 4300, and this happened in 2018 game and you fixed it.

It's a generational thing.

K10 Core (Thuban 45 nm)

All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4a, ABM, Enhanced 3DNow!, NX bit, AMD64, Cool'n'Quiet, AMD-V, Turbo Core (AMD equivalent of Intel Turbo Boost)

Bulldozer Core (Zambezi, 32 nm)

All models support: MMX(+), SSE1 - 2 - 3 - 3s - 4.1 4.2 - 4a, NX bit, AMD64, AMD-V, IOMMUAESCLMULAVXXOPFMA4F16C, ABM, Turbo Core 2.0PowerNow!, ECC

I'm not mad, but I am not the dev. I didn't set the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT so don't compare apples and oranges. If the game utilises any of the technologies on the newer chips that aren't on the older one, it will either not run the code or performance will be degraded.

Hi Codies,

I bought myself F1 2020 a few days ago and wanted to play it on the 9th of June.

After I started the game I skiped the first few animations until the "press any button" screen to get into the mainmenu

The moment I press something, the games crashes, everytime.

1. Descripton: I get to the Screen before the Mainmenu where I have to "press any button" and after I do that, the game crashes.

2. Version: 1.03

3. No Gamemode, before the mainmenu

4. Happend everytime I tried it I think 12 times now, every time it is crashing.

5. I tried: Updating drivers, using old ones, reinstalling the game, checking gamedata and even reseted my entire Windows for it. Didn´t help.

6. [File attach]

7. DxDiag [File attach] [Playing on DirectX 11 actually but 12 would run good too. if this is important]

I've merged these threads as they relate to crashes on unsupported CPUs.

Will it be possible of us to play the game ?

I've talked with Hoo and he said they will try something to solve it. But this guy is just a toxic forum member i think^^

Is there any information from Hoo or someone elsehow long it takes to solve it IF they solve it ?

They will keep us updated. It's not that easy to optimize things i believe. Btw he said that this is not guaranteed. This may not work. So if you want to refund, you can. Before it's too late.

In F1 2018 they succeeded in this we must continue to trust hahaha

Yes, i trust them but like they said they dont have access to test it anymore so it may not work. Gotta be positive but any negative things can happen too.

Hi All,

As previously mentioned, the CPU falls below our minimum specification so we are unable to offer proper support for it. Our official recommendation is to pursue a refund if you are able to.

The dev team have taken a look at the crash dump that was provided and think they can stop that particular crash, but there might be other issues afterwards that we don't know about. As we are unable to test on these older chips anymore, any change that we make is purely speculative and might not work so please don't miss out on the opportunity to claim a refund by waiting for this fix.

I will update this thread once there is more information on if and when a potential fix can be added to a future patch.

Thanks.

Of course not. I’m telling you that the CPU is too old.

If they patch it are you gonna say, well F1 2020 worked?

There is a line in the sand. I think 10 years is beyond pretty reasonable.

Hidden some posts for offensive language. Asking the same thing over and over while been given a proper answer irritates. Allthough not something we stand for but understandable so except the facts and stop asking for something that probably will not happen. Upgrade or get a refund.

Thank you for the consideration. Phenom users like me always suffered with the lacking of some instructions sets like the SSE 4.1 and 4.2 from Intel very early, it's not a "10 year old incompatible CPU issue, so buy a new computer" like some people say. That kind of thing happened in 2015 with the Metal Gear Solid V on launch (fixed later). No Man's Sky forum threads also had that kind of comments about Phenom owners but at the end got fixed by developers, not forgetting also Fair Cry 5 that today don't require 4.X anymore and some new games (Resident Evil 3, Dragon Ball Kakarot) that are able to run on these CPU's and play just fine.

I have the same problem but my processor is an I5 7300q and it was running f1 2019 in high resolution.

Not the same problem then I'm afraid, different variables. Please complete a separate, full bug report please or will delete. Please familiarise yourself with key parts of the forum before bug reporting is essential.

Don't want to sound like an arse but ten years is a VERY long time in this world. In my old Phenom II rig I have a HD5870 that's just as old and there aren't even any driver updates for that anymore, haven't been for a couple of years. You can't really expect everything to be adapted to old hardware indefinately. That rig have lasted longer than any x86 computer I've ever owned, I replaced it late last year. It's done a great job but I didn't expect it to last forever and I managed to get it going a few years longer than expected. As previously mentioned in this thread, the line has to be drawn somewhere. Making games work on old hardware will make them perform worse on modern hardware so there are reasons to drop support at some point. I fully understand that computers are expensive and some can't afford to upgrade but there's just to few using such old hardware to justify adapting games for it anymore.

Where does it stop really? They fix it this year, then it will sound exactly the same next year, and the next and so on. Sorry, but that's not being realistic.

I have the same problem, but if I knew for the problem I wouldn't buy the game yet, I don't really have a lot of knowledge of PCs or F1 games in general. I understand this but it should have been said that older processor guys might not have their game working. I just hope you can fix it.
