How do you change the pit strategy in mid race. (ie. different set of tire type)

I am driving in the race and I want to change the type of tires it is recommending from wet to intermediate.

I press the B button (xbox360) and go to the proper menu screen.  How do I navigate to the tire selection type before entering the pits so that the right tires are put on the car?
