High GPU ussage [CRITICAL]

Recommended Posts

1.      [PC] High GPU usage during intervievs, loadings etc. Problem with this is that I'm using RTX Voice and once GPU reaches over 90% my sound is "cracking" and there is no way to understand what I'm talking.

With 20 cars on track, there is no way my GPU reaches 100% but it does when screen is black O_o

I run game at 4k U.High presset and frames locked to 60
2.       1.03
3.       Any
4.       It's random, sometimes during loading to race, lobby it's ok, next time gpu reaches 100%
5.       Lates Nvidia drivers, DX11, same issue on DX12

I've added result from benchmark (monaco) at same settings just to show that PC perf is ok, it's just something with game.

how is the performance without RTX Voice? I think RTX Voice is causing the problem here because it is still a beta

I wasn't a problem in F1 2019 and we are talking about 99% gpu utilization when there is only Black screen, so it's not because of RTX Voice.

you didn't answer my question, how is it without RTX Voice?

it is still in beta stage and similar problems are reported in the forum. so it is very likely that the problems come from RTX Voice and not from the game

Xonar DX audio drivers not signed. RTX Voice should be removed for troubleshooting. You have to divide and conquer.

Windows 10 and Nvidia 450.xx series still early days.

It wasn't a problem in F1 2019 (same setup) and suddenly in 2020 it is? Same engine no much has changed.

Without RTX Voice:

It's obvious that problem is with game when with black screen or just results screen i get over 80-90% gpu usage.

2019 vs 2020 is compairing apples to peers. New game, new rules. Like with the handling of the cars you need to find your way again in the settings.

Just an update after new game update.

Nothing has changed, still GPU spike to 100% usage when loading to new race. but on top of that now we have random stutters during race or when someone join lobby.

Funny with stutters is that it happens to few folks at the same time.

Great codeMASTERS 😉

Same engine means nothing to us these days. Dependencies and technology can be changed between titles (See Operation Flashpoint games for example!), especially as F1 2020 is not built directly on top of F1 2019. If this also happens to only the very few, it can't be considered an "obvious problem", as we have no clue what causes it. You also say that it's random, so we need to figure out the cases in which this happens 🙂

I wouldn't rule out loading though. Could you run the game on windowed mode and avoid modifying the window in any way (resizing the rendertarget could cause some assets to be reloaded) and see if you can get this to happen?

Window mode cause input lag, so no matter if it helps, this is not an solution.

The problem is only while loading, interviews or sometimes in main menu, while during racing, at max details (ssrt off) my gpu never goes above 90%, black screen and it's maxed out. O_o

So there is an issue obviously, dunno why as it wasn't a problem in F1 2019.

Also there were few threds with problem that gpu overheat in main menu (of course if someone dosen't use fps lock) so also there is a hint that something is not right.

Probably not everyone run game with overlay to see what is going in, so it doesnt matter that there is no problem because people doesn't report it as they have no idea that there is isse like this.

maybe a lock to 30fps during loading, etc could help a bit.

stutters and thats new since last patch.

Currently the idea is to figure out what causes it.
