Sir_Overtakesalot 199 Posted July 12 I gotta say, getting a decent rank in the 5 mandatory races is near impossible with the caliber of people who take part. If you don't get rammed from behind in turn 1 then you'll get rammed from behind in turn 2 and if your lucky like I was today, you'll get pit maneuvered and go from 4th to 11th in a matter of seconds. Not to mention the Communicating with online services taking up the entire screen so you can't see anything. That also happened to me at the start of my qualifying lap in my 3rd ranked race today as well as during the race. Just like my second race, it was ruined by communicating with online services blocking my view. At a time when it was crucial to perform well. It was out of my control.  My idea to fix this nonsense is take out the multiplayer aspect of it and make it based on speed. Have 5 separate races on randomly chosen tracks of 5 laps against the AI. Have every setting the same. Damage reduced etc.. The rank rating is based on the AI difficulty setting. For example the highest rating would be given if all 5 races were won against the AI difficulty of 106 or higher, the lowest rank would be given if you cannot exceed 45. Then each tier would go up by 10. So for example, silver tier one would be from 46 to 55. Silver tier two would be from 56 to 65 and silver tier 3 would be from 66 to 75. On to Gold rank. Tier one would be from 76 to 85, tier 2 86 to 95 and finally gold tier 3 would be 96 to 105. Master Rank would be 106 and above. You are allowed to improve your rank at any time... if you are good enough to up your AI Level. You can only choose one AI Level for the entire 5 race event. So if you choose 106 and win 4 out of 5 races then you either try again or lower the AI difficulty. Once a rank is given it will apply to weekly event matching. Safety rating will be the same. If you're divebombing the AI and ramming to pass getting collision warnings, then the safety rating goes down. If you get multiple track warnings, your safety rating goes down. If you're clean all 5 races. You get an S rank. The only way to achieve the S rank is to finish all 5 races not only winning with the chosen AI difficulty but doing it with not one warning. Squeaky clean. If the AI difficulty is beaten but the S rank is not achieved and the player wants it, they may attempt it as many times as they like without losing their current rating/rank. I feel this model will better group people together in terms of skill level during a Weekly Event. Some may say it can be exploited. Purposely performing bad to race against lesser skilled players. I'd say that can happen now as well so no difference there. I'd do away with the ranked section that is implemented now. It's nothing but a headache and does not accurately convey the real skill level of players like myself. I've had 4 top 10 finishes in weekly events in 2019 and a master rank and S safety rating. 2020 I have a tier one silver rank of 1,112 and a B safety rating after 5 bumper car like races and game errors such as the Communicating with online services issue blocking the screen. It's ridiculous. @BarryBL if you would be so kind as to send this idea to the developers. I'd be interested to hear what they think.
