Fanatec CSR Elite Pedals Clutch Problem

Recommended Posts

Everything about my setup works flawlessly, except that my clutch pedal just doesn't register. The gas and brake pedal work perfectly, and the clutch works in every other game I've tried, including Dirt 3. My pedals are running through my Fanatec GT2 wheel hub. I've read about people fixing this via custom wheel setting, but my GT2 wheel is recognized and I don't have that option. I feel like it's a game problem so I'm not posting my PC hardware. Is anyone else having the same issue or another issue with these pedals?

I've got the exact same problem with a Thrustmaster T300RS and my shiny new T3PA-pedals that I received yesterday.
My hunch is that the game assumes that since the T300RS default set of pedal doesn't come with a clutch, then the game doesn't bother looking for them.

Well that's obnoxious. the Fanatec wheels only come in parts, not bundles like the Thrustmasters, a product I'll never buy again... anyways it's just weird that it works flawlessly in every other game, even on the 360.

Hello,

To fix the clutch problem you have to go into profile and pick manual + H shifter + clutch. Once you do that then you can go in and calibrate the clutch in advanced options.

Nope. Clutch goes unregistered even through the configuration.

That really stinks JZ.  I have the elite pedals and they work flawlessly. Gas, break, and clutch.  Hmmm maybe we can figure out why its not work.  I know this all sounds redundant, but lets go through my steps.  First I went to player profile and seleted manual H pattern shifter + clutch.  After that step I went to option under controls and scrolled down on the list and found the clutch.  I clicked the clutch and then mapped it to my clutch on my elites.  Another thing is that I have the elites plugged in directly to the PC with USB.  After that I went to advanced wheel options and calibrated the device and the clutch was found.  Hopefully its just a step in errors.

I did run in to a small problem with my H pattern shifter last night.  I could not remap gear 1 and gear 2.  All it was saying was that it was undefined for gear 1 and 2.  The way I fixed it was to go under choose preset controls, and I had to re select my fanatec wheel again.  When you click the wheel it pretty much sets everything to default.

If you can get it to work, make sure to calibrate the clutch to 50 percent.  The clutch only engages on the entire throw distance and the window for it to work is very narrow.  Calibrating it at 50 percent helps out a lot in shifting and heal toeing.

Maybe it's because I'm connecting it to my wheel hub, but isn't the USB connector extra? Don't really feel like buying something when it should work as is, and then it takes another port when it doesn't need to.
Never mind, it does come with USB, I'll try it later and report back.

So I guess the problem occurs when running it through the wheel. Should still be something to get fixed. I guess ill have to try to find a way to get access to 2 USB ports since the one on the front of my pc is broken. This is going to make it harder to just pull my wheel up and play.
