Hi all,

I came back after F1 2016. I have been playing for a couple of days now on 85 difficulty, enjoying both the new My Team and the Driver Career modes. 

I have one issue though, I play with no assists, full damage, manual gear changes, and my gearbox gets worn out after 2 races. On F2 , sometimes i cannot complete a single race weekend. 

I am on PS4 and with a controller. My race distance is 50% and it makes me think that it could be a scaling bug?

I can definitely smooth my downshifts a bit but still, it doesn't feel that it will fix the issue entirely.

How are your upshifts? Not short shifting or over reving? Only thing I can think if your downshifts are good. Though starting out its always tough but 1 or 2 races is definitely abnormal wear. Any chance of a vid of it with the engine MFD up through the race?

Stick the gearshift beep on in the menu as a temp measure so you can see if your changing at approximately the correct time ( upshifts)

I have this issue too, not much more to say, my gearbox was unusable after 2 races in MyTeam

Hi guys, I’ve noticed at the end of the career mode the gearbox wear has become stupid. I normally can get 5 races out of a gearbox before it reaches 80% wear. This is still too high in my opinion. However I’ve just done 3 races with a different gearbox and it’s already in 82%. This gearbox has done 83 laps, where as my pervious has done 187 laps. So it’s done less than 50% of the laps for the same wear; that doesn’t work. 
I will also add that 3 races ago I had the Major Gearbox wear upgrade in the RnD sector that brings the improvement to 49.5%. This was definitely not an improvement.

I hope a fixing  announcement and a patch will come today as we still cannot play the game because of this. I could not find the other topic about gearbox issue where I also reported a bug but this need to be kept high above in the sections to solve it asap.

THis is strange. I've done 5 races and my gearbox is only at 45% wear. Though, I do upshifts just as the revs hit the second to last light and downshift as late as I can under breaking to avoid to high revs.

I would now like to add to this, with saying that I now have a gearbox I had for 2 races that has only done 71 laps with now 68% wear.

Are you skipping or simulating sessions? Do you see the wear increase dramatically while racing?

Mines exactly the same. Each race was 34% wear for me and that’s with the Gearbox durability 2 upgrade on the car!

@ThunderCats101 no, Tbh I don’t know, because I don’t look at the gearbox after each session. However I did monitor it in my Q1 lap and in Mexico it put 2% wear

How do you drive? When do you up- and downshift? I'm asking because I'm at 45% wear on my first gearbox after 5 races.

@Lakrits How id normally drive on any racing game, shift up at the optimum and down shift in to the corners. On my wheel I have shift light indicators. So when the blue ones come on that’s when I shift, and so on so forth. 
 

I Know for a fact it’s not my driving, because on F1 2019 I could easily do 6 races no issue. And at the start of the game I had no issues. It’s when you apply the gearbox wear upgrades. It’s the upgrades that seem to make it worse. I’ve got a mate who’s experiencing it as well. 
 

I had 3 gearboxes that all did 5 races no issues. 6th was a stretch but we did it. As soon as I put the Major Gearbox Durability upgrade one on And it went to a improvement of 50%, I can no longer even do 3 races

1.       When I try to do MyTeam, the gearbox gets used a lot (around 30% per weekend.) Even higher at F2 career, where I had to retire from free practice and Feature Race.

@BarryBL Is there any update on a gearbox fix???? Now that 1.03 for Xbox is out it’s still not fixed this issue. 
 

There’s so solution to it what’s so ever apart from using Automatic gears which I shouldn’t be forced in to. 
 

It’s killing the game atm, I love the game so much right now and my team is so gripping. But it’s just not enjoyable going to to a race with a brand new gearbox only to come out of it with a gearbox that now needs replacing. I’m not going to lie, I haven’t played the game in a few days because of it issue. It’s stopped me playing it because I’m no where near as competitive in auto gears and manual gears just isn’t fun. 
 

Can this please be addressed ASAP??

Vraagje, Bij mijn is het helemaal vaag. ik speel al 8 racen met mijn team, En ineens verandert me wagen naar zelf schakelen. Maar als ik naar mij instellingen ga staat er gewoon handgeschakeld? Ken iemand mij hier bij helpen? Alstublieft. Mijn dank is groot
