Shwize 9 Posted July 14 I feel like this will help people who don't use line find people who are on the same assists as them and try to beat them
Faustex 3 Posted July 21 Do you mean a filter, so that people look for assistance and try to beat it? I thought about it today
Mikulitsi 13 Posted July 21 Yes this would be fantastic
TurkeySloth2107 77 Posted July 22 I, actually, stopped using the line assist and personal ghost in TT because I started racing the ghost as thoughit were AI on Spain and cannot hold the line to save my life.
Nas00 69 Posted July 22 (edited) The line helps you when you're new to a circuit but it actually only makes you slower. You'll never learn your own braking and turning points and have your own racing line. That's generally the first assist people turn off and I can guarantee you that any player with a little bit of experience doesn't use it at all. Let alone the best ones. Yet, I see so much videos on Reddit and Youtube with people using the 3D line. Even the ones who are setting very competitive lap times. It doesn't bother me at all, I just don't understand why someone who already is very fast use such a beginner assist.

I have yet to see any good/top player using that line other than maybe for educational purpose. It only distracts you and subconsciously influences your driving style. The braking zones are very generous and done to play it safe. It will make you lose time, because you force yourself to follow that line, even if say you make an error (braking too late, going wide, etc) that would suppose following another racing line to compensate it. As I said, it's a template made to familiarize yourself with the circuit and nothing more. After that, it's just a hindrance. Edited July 22 by Nas00
D4rio 40 Posted July 22 (edited) Mixed feelings about this. Sure the driving line can greatly help a player to become faster, but once he masters the track they become uninfluential. So I don't see a reason why he should discriminate between lines on and off on the leaderboards. Edited July 22 by D4rio
