Sector delta colours are incorrect

Recommended Posts

1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here.

The three sector split colours in the lap time part of the OSD are triggered incorrectly. With the current system, the colour shown in the sector (red, green, purple) correspond with the delta time at the sector split. Instead, it should reflect the sector times compared to previous little laps.

For instance, if on my second lap I gain 0.500 in sector one on the lap before, and lose 0.200 in sector two, both sectors will show a green colour because I'm still up 0.300 on my previous best. In fact, however, sector one should show green (best overall), but sector two should show red (the previous best was 0.200 faster).

2.       Platform

PS4, but I've seen this issue on YouTube videos of people playing on all other platforms as well.

3.       What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen)

1.04

4.       Game-mode?

Any

5.       What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too.

All of the time.

6.       What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue

Not sure I can try anything to fix this on my end.

7.       What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc)

Thrustmaster T300 RS

8.       Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears.

Sure thing @BarryBL. I have illustrated my point using the following screenshots. In this situation, I have set one base lap time which is therefore considered my fastest time so far. The screenshots below are made on lap 2. At the end there's a Race Director lap time screenshot to provide a general overview.

As you can see, I am 0.320 faster than my previous lap time, so my overall lap delta is still green. However, this delta was 0.842 at the end of sector one. Thus, I have lost 0.5 seconds in the second sector. However, sector two is still coloured green in the bottom right; it should be coloured red (or, if the official F1 graphics are replicated, yellow), since this sector time was slower than the second sector on the player's previous fastest lap.

Sector three shows green, which is correct as I gained time in that sector compared to the lap before. Sector two is still coloured green, which is still incorrect despite the overall faster lap time.

F1® 2020_20200715131341.jpgHere are the overall sector times. As stated above, sector one and three were quicker and were correctly coloured green in the lap time portion of the OSD. Sector two, however, was slower on lap two compared to lap 1. Yet, it was still depicted green in the bottom right of the OSD, I presume because overall, the delta at the end of the second sector was still positive (the gains in sector 1 were larger than the losses in sector 2).

To conclude, the coloured sector delta lights in the lap time section of the OSD incorrectly show individual sector times. The colours seem to be matched to the overall lap delta at the end of the sector, rather than the individual sector times. I hope I have clearly illustrated my point. I recognise this can be considered a minor thing, but I hope it can be fixed nonetheless as the present system gives a false overview of the current lap sectors.

Thanks for your time and efforts.
