Tyres in Time Trial

Recommended Posts

I may be missing the option to select tyres in time trial mode due to not looking hard enough, but I can't seem to find that option. I think it'd be nice to see why the FIA selects the compounds it does for the races. Mind you, I'm aware it deals with degradation, or lack thereof. For example, I'm interested in how the hard and/or super hard compounds would fare on a track they aren't seen on in F1, itself.

Time trial is intentionally locked into just using the softest tyre option I believe, and has has been in previous versions of the game too. The idea being to achieve the fastest possible single lap.

Practice sessions allow you to compare tyre compounds.

Okay. Any compouds or just those the three on issue? I may be missing the "single race" mode due to my focuse on getting used to a F1 car's handling in TT, bute I haven't seen that either.

I hope your observational skills are a little better when driving :classic_biggrin:. You want Grand Prix mode, two above TT.

Practice will limit you to the three compounds available for the chosen track.

I've, actually, seen Grand Prix mode. I guess te disconnect stems from my previous experience with NASCAR '99, which had a mode that let me pick a track and immediately race, whereas GP mode has you, potentially, unlock the entire schedule before letting you race. The race will always be Australia unless changed. An example is being able to select Sonoma from the screen and go there, similar to how TT works in this game.

It takes no longer to select a track in GP mode than TT. The bit that takes slightly longer is choosing the options you want for the GP, one of which is the helpful ability to add/configure practice sessions.
