My view on F1 2015 so far

Recommended Posts

I have read alot about glitches and stuff.

I expect that these will be patched on release day, including the safety car.

Now, this is obviously a guess but I think it'll happen.

your opinion/guess?

I get that, but we're looking at a game that isn't officially out yet.
In their previous games, they didn't patch anything.

If they won't do anything with these glitches than they can better hand in their license.

Bit of both accually.

I expect them to fix things this time, but on the other hand, we're talking about CM here...

That's not quite true.  To  be fair, 2011 had at least 2 patches, and 2012 even had 11 patches via steam update. '13 and '14 I found no patches on steam.

I play on Playstation and I'm not sure if I had a patch the last few years.
Could be that I just forgot about them though.

Most patches made things worse anyway. I think the tyrebug 2011 appeared after the second? patch on PC. Rumour has it that led to removal of FP1 and FP2 .

Well I'm glad that we can enjoy full race weekends again, although I've read about some stuff.

When you do a 50% race, your qualifying is shorter too.
If you do a 100% race, you get full qualifying.

I have pre-ordered, but I'm yet to play the game, so my opinion i surely based on all the information that has been 'confirmed' and from all the video footage released so far.

I must say with 2 days to go I have a huge amount of frustration with Codemasters. The more I hear about this years game, the more dissapointment I feel.
Im watching a few lifestreams on Twitch now, and the game just looks terrible!
There is a complete lack of game modes! No career, no ability to create a driver and 'live the life' we all asked for... Not much to keep our attention. I think I'll bore of this very quickly.
So far, no real improvements to setup. You can adjust tyre pressures, but that remains to be seen as to wether it has an impact.
No pitlane control or manual starts, something that Project CARS has managed to do successfully...
No safety Car is a real game breaker for me... I can't see any reason for its omission, and quite frankly I can take game modes being removed, but when you start removing an already threadbare gameplay element, then you need to really start thinking about whether code masters are the right team for the series.
This was supposed to be a new start for Codemasters. Built from the ground up? Yeah right!!
A new gen of consoles was supposed to allow them to include everything that old consoles were limited by. Yet this game contains even less!!!!
Its plain to see why Codemasters have been so secretive and silent in recent months... Get the pre-orders in and rip off the customer before they see what they've been sold!

I understand your frustration.

I liked Career mode, but already had the feeling that it would get dropped.
They couldn't change anything about it due to the FOM license.

Not sure about safety car being in the game or not.
I expect it to be, although CM has avoided the questions about it.

I completely agree with you.
I've been playing Pcars for a while now and I'm really enjoying it.
There are a couple of bugs but they bring out patches.

Let's just hope that CM up's their game in the coming week(s).

It is a sad day indeed, when you half-assed attempt from the year before looks better than your new all-shiny next-gen game.
At this point I'd rather have no F1 game whatsoever than one from Codemasters.

If Frustration could be transformed into electricity the world woudn't Need one single nuclear power plant. You'd only Need this Forum...codemasters would do the rest...

I don't see that happen unfortunately.. We'll have to wait and see what the day one patch brings.

Will the graphical errors be patched?
I think it's clear to say that nobody likes the T-Cam movement.
The drivers hands clearly move through the cockpit.
The drivers legs have no shadow or lighting texture...
The night races look far too bland and dark. The tracks are far more illuminated in real life.

Yeah, CM really needs to up their game.
If you see what other games can do and you look at the F1 games..

I just assume that it's just a Codemasters strategy to improve the game with bug fixes and features via Patches till November, which is actually their original launch time for any F1 game in the past. So expect fully functioning game with all the requests and demands till November. And if I am wrong then expect it straight away in F1 2016 (hopefully) :p

Well don't expect many patches. Day one patch and that's it I believe. Remember they ignored the cry's of the community last year for a patch on last gen. Already they have ignored tweets from many fans on what support this game will receive post release. Silence that's what your patch will be. Sorry but I have to laugh at some comments here that Codemasters will have the Safety Car in a later patch. Get real people when you get silence expect nothing.

Let us hope lol.

I only expect some bugs to be fixed with the first patch and that's it.

I expect to see the license go to someone else or it is possible that we won't get a f1 game for a while.

The licence isn't going anywhere for at least another year, Codemasters have it for 2016 as well, and intend to renew it if they can.
