Tried to replicate and unable to do so. AI overtook me as expected. How many times can you experience this out of 5 for example.

Only happens when Al drivers aren’t in a hotlap

Any time you're in quali and you're doing your inlap, the AI (at least ones not on a hotlap) never pass you no matter how slow you are going. Needs to be some code added that allows AI to pass if you are going much slower than usual. If you really need video replication I can record one later, but I'm surprised you never noticed this.

AI behaviour in quali needs an update in general. They're way too fast in out- and in-laps.

From experience, it seems you have to slow down to at least 50kph for the AI in a slow lap to drive off instead of continuously letting you through.

Seconding this. It also happens to me all the time in free practice sessions and quali. Whenever I want to be a good lad and let the AI pass me while on an out/cool down lap, I slow down for them, they slow down as well and we essentially get into a competition of who can drive the slowest. Sometimes they eventually pass me but as soon as I accelerate a bit, they slow down again to let me pass. Rinse, repeat.

See above

2.       Platform
Windows 10

3.       What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen)
Version 1.03 I believe

4.       Game-mode?
Race weekend, practice and qualifying

5.       What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too.

All the time

6.       What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue

Same as above

7.       What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc)
MSI Force GC30 gamepad, though I doubt that has anything to do with it

Ah okay, sorry, from the initial report it had 'race weekend', so I presumed race session as well. On me. I'll try this out. I'll give this a go in a practice session

I also experience this regularly when I am on my in-lap and just cruising around slowly.  If I come to a complete stop, they will keep going, but they still cruise along like they are waiting for me to catch up.  It wouldn't be a problem, but a couple of times they have also not slowed down enough to allow me to completely pass and they end up staying exactly next to me and then hit me in the next corner and in one instance I got a penalty for causing a collision.

I second this. I'm playing on pc and this has been pretty much the case since 2019. It happens during practice and quali. Also when you accelerate to warm up your tires etc behind ai, they'll always let you pass when they could just speed up themselves and carry on.

It happens all the time. You are not able to do an in lap in reduced speed without playing this kind of game « who is the slowest ».

The problem is that by reducing your pace, you are provoking a yellow flag and the IA won’t overtake and let you pass.

ideally, to avoid this, you should continue and block the AI or go back to pit in menu (in this case, you are wearing your tires even more).

i've been having this too on pc in quali, i think it's to do with not overtaking under yellows, which is rediculous considering it's quali

Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. You receive a yellow flag on practice or qualification and the AI just slow down and come along. If you go faster, there is a green flag and they want to race with you. Then you slow down again and receive another yellow flag and the AI act like they want to provoke you.

if you go direct to the pits via the menu, you wear your tires more but if you stay on track, you risk a penalty for overtaking under yellow flag or another penalty if the AI hits you.

This problem is present on last years games.
