Got my copy (PS4) updated with the patch.

Few things I would like to see changed is being able to set up a season how you want, better tyre wear indicator and car status while driving
is the sc in it?

The tyre wear indicator and car status they said they ran out of time on and may possibly end up in a later patch. I know a lot of people will whine about that very non sim feature not making it in but I am sure you can still tell when your tyres are bad.

Ran out of time? They had 2 years!!!!
They sold us a shambles of a game in F1 2014 so that they'd have more time for this!
Two years to create two games. I really can't say this enough but many of you really have no idea the effort it takes to build a game from scratch. Complain all you like about how bad 2014 was, considering that it was more than a copy-paste effort and considering the work it took to simultaneously begin building the next gen offering is actually quite amazing. I'm actually surprised they didn't have to push the date back even further..

I think if some of you spent just as little as a day in the life of this team you'd garner a whole new appreciation for what you have here and understand what kind of passion it takes to build a game that from the outset is going to be challenged with complaints and ridicule in spite of their best efforts.

I thought as much! ;) - Thanks @LiteralZero for the information.

By the way, did you receive my question regarding the Saubers' steering wheel size...?

It needs resizing to that of real life, so if you could pass that on to the developers it would be appreciated, then they could amend this issue.

Thanks m8!

Your obsession with the steering wheels is extremely unhealthy...let it go mate, just let it go.

Just about every race you hear a driver on his radio complaining about his tyres and wanting to pit.  So when you are racing and you start yelling at your tv about your tyres do yourself a favor and pit  if your strategy allows.  You are your best tyre wear indicator.

Got a quick question, on PC can you still ask the exact same information as the consoles with voice recognition from your engineer using normal controls?

so how do you tell when your tyres need changing?

Im guessing hes talking about the feel of the car? When you start missing the apex and/or lighting the rear tires up thats normaly a good indicator that the tires are past there best. If your consistant with your lap times you will know by that how good the tires are also. Assuming fuel still affects lap times you should in theory get quicker lap by lap (100% race more than a 5 lap race :)) when you are finding your times are slower lap by lap that is when its time to change them. Soz if thats not what your asking!

have you just released the patch? my ps4 is downloading a 696mb update for the game
Let us know if it's the update please!

Manor should be available.
Yes Manor are included but I started my season before the patch so they're not included in my current  season, won't be the case for most though

Believe they said this is one of the things that's added in the day zero patch for consoles, so I assume it's possible on PC too.

I think with the hundreds or thousands of players out there who have received the game early, if the Safety Car existed then somebody would have seen it by now and reported it.   I think the answer is a definite no.

Why was the game released in such a broken state in the first place?
I wouldn't go as far as calling it broken, but they committed to a deadline and this is just the facts of life when trying to finalize things under such self-imposed constraints. Game releases are not perfect - it's more of an art than a science - trust me. It's not like it was in the early nintendo or even playstation days and developers try to take advantage of that (as CM did) and with that comes risk. You're just seeing some oversights and other bits and pieces that they thought wouldn't bother the non-hardcore group as much but still satisfy their desire to start racing as soon as possible.

They weighed this against the likely possibility that the grumblers will grumble and decided to move forward with the release anyway - which was kind of a no-brainer IMO.
People are reporting glitches where everyone gets disqualified from the race after pitting. Those people who are unable to download the patch are stuck with a broken product.

And this rubbish of "game releases are not perfect - it's more of an art than a science - trust me". It's bad practice, and developers get away with it because people think it's okay to spend their time downloading a fix to their game rather than playing the game.

@MarkDavis94
You're right, but that's my point exactly. It's an industry-wide thing, not just CM. Even Project Cars was riddled with bugs on release. This is just the way it is these days. CM aren't special.

I remember several months back Madden had a tiny player glitch. It went viral and they even made a commercial out of it. It's as accepted and as frustrating as blowing on your Nintendo cartridge was back in the day (if you were around back then).

it bugs me also! what I don't get is why the sauber & lotus wheel are so badly scaled compared to other it just look awful and akward, while they did not seem to care about the Mercedes to get it right despite the hands going trough the cockpit.

cm please explain why this was not done properly for all the teams.

"It's okay because everyone else does it"

Thanks gramps, I am aware of blowing on the Nintendo Cartridge. Except that was because of poor maintenance on the consumers part. Not because the developers couldn't commit to their deadlines and shoved an unfinished product out the door and said "eh we'll fix it later"

You can feel the tyre wear but it seems to go from good grip then you get a engineer message saying they can see some tyre wear in the data to finding it hard to keep it on the track. At least with a indicator you can judge when you are going to fall off the cliff and pit
