Pad steering issue

Recommended Posts

Weirdly I've never seen this discussed in the forum's despite looking many times, yet myself and a lot of people who I know who play F1 2020 and previous iterations all have experienced the same.

I first really noticed it on F1 2019, where you'd be driving around, and occasionally during turn in, the car would intermittently straighten (the wheel itself on screen would be appearing to do the same) despite no inputs from myself. At first I assumed it was the way I was driving, but it wouldn't always happen. I could flashback, take the corner again the same way and be fine. I eventually gave up on F1 2019 because it became too frustrating to play for the same reason.

I went back to F1 2017 and found the same issue.

And now again on F1 2020. Had to use a few flashbacks to complete the race in China without this issue occurring, and I can't even complete a clean lap in the Netherlands, it's really frustrating.

Weirdly, when I had an invitational event with the 2010 Red Bull, I didn't experience it at all.

Like I said, I've not seen it discussed before other than a fair few of my friends who play it who have all experienced the same thing.

Not a codies staff member, but are you going past 90 degress (i.e. 3 and 9 on a clock) on the joystick?

I believe if you go past full left and full right, therefore starting to move below horizontal, the game doesn't like that and can cause a weird reset issue.
