Am I missing something?

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

So I've been coming on this forum and the old one since 2010 was released and for the first time decided to post.

My copy of 2015 arrived in the post today. Rushed home from work and fired that bad boy up! I started with a race weekend but just did the practice session. The first thing I noticed was the handling is much improved. The car actually feels like it has weight to it and you have to ease off the brake to avoid locking up. So far so good! Right....time to get all my settings where I want them and straight into championship!

Errrrm....how do I turn off those driver tags was the first thing I struggled to find?? Please someone tell me I'm just missing the setting?? Nothing kills realism more than Vettels name floating around my screen while I'm trying to overtake him! I gave up trying to find the setting and decided to concentrate on getting the sound right, as in the practice session I couldn't hear the engine or engineer voice very well. I turned everything down to it's lowest setting and the engine up to full. It's fine now....until you are within 100m of any other car on track and then you can't hear your engine at all!! Spinning out in every traction zone followed as I just couldn't hear what I was doing :(

Anyway....all these things I can overlook with the improved handling so on to the championship.......Errm....hang on... The only way I can do a full qualy session is if I do 100% race? Again, please tell me this is just something I have missed?

I can handle losing career and other feature's but this has become an absolute joke. They have stripped this game bare to the point that you can't really control anything you do. I've given this company £40 a year and except that I'm paying for software. There are going to be bugs and not everything is going to be exactly how I want it but this is almost like they are purposely trying to troll us.

Please codies, just take a look at the forum over the last few years. There's little wonder it becomes more and more dead in here over time. You are alienating your customer base and frankly just plain pi**ing them off now. You can't strip everything away from the game and expect us all to just keep giving you our money without saying what we think of the product we are buying. I was always one of those that was willing to give you guys another chance but enough is enough. I know I don't have to buy your games but as a huge 20 years plus F1 fan I don't have another option.

I know this post won't be read by anyone who can actually change the way this franchise is going but if I were you guys on the forum who were on the fence....don't bloody bother. It's a mess.

Sorry for the depressing ranty post :)

I Wonder If The Sales Figures Will Wake Codies Up From Their Dream World.
I don't know mate but I'm still playing and now getting serious lag in my first race. The screen freezes up for a second or two and then speeds up like crazy. I keep restarting but it does it every time a lap or two in.

The problem with the sales figures is most of us, myself included keep buying their games. I've enjoyed all of them but the problems with this are something else! The ai are crashing into each other every other corner for god sake.

The game is incredibly bare! It's almost like the skeleton of the real thing... Or a hyped up tech demo... I really expected more, having played 2 races today I enjoyed the handling but can see the game getting very boring, very quickly! :(

Agreed GtAce36 the handling is really good from what I can tell so far. The game feels almost like a early access to me. You get 60% of the features but not them all
