Naxlr 33 Posted July 24 Held off through experience from previous f1 games on release and with reading the bug's and new bug's intruced since patch 1.05 ie facilities not upgrading saw dsq for tyres etc is there still enough there to be played to justify the 50 pound whilst waiting/hoping patches will fix these things
KittyFit90 253 Posted July 24 For a singleplayer experience on PC with a wheel, I'd say this is the best F1 game yet. On other platforms or as an MP experience I can't comment.

1henryw 113 Posted July 24 2 races I've every driver other than 2 be disqualified under safety car. I've had to abandon my teams because my facilities wouldn't upgrade.

Some will say no some yes. There are bugs until now. I've had none luckily, other had some more. It could be that we see a perfomance update in the future. Maybe it will alter your career or you have to start a new one. But again, the decision has to be made by yourself.
Naxlr 33 Posted July 24 Yes I get that it was more about just how broken is my team for example has the dsq for tyres been fixed you know game breaking stuff I can handle little bugs it ones that ruin a mode / race is not what I want to waste 50 pound on

First the tyre bug is patched. Other bugs in myTeam mode can happen. Some people say they never experienced a bug and some say it's broken. In my opinion it is worth the money and CM is working on future patches. The price will not drop so fast in the next weeks. So if you can handle some maybe bugs, than buy it. If you are a carefully guy wait for more patches.
kalamazoo123 286 Posted July 24 It was in a bit of a state at release, but since patch 1.05 it’s all working as it should. Haven’t seen any bugs since then. on PS4

majson83 2 Posted July 24 (edited) Honestly, sadly not. f1 2019 is a more rounded game right now than f1 2020 and if its for the tracks then Hockenheim is more fun than the 2 added in, not CM fault just not brilliant tracks. Zand is fun to drive but as an F1 race track, im not sure it's great as theres maybe, maybe 2 overtaking places (again, not a CM issue). Handling is generally good, I find the weather effects have clipping on side of track, the lighting on tracks seems off (cant quite put my finger on it exactly), AI seem more crash happy to me. With another patch or 2, yes, it is. Edited July 24 by majson83
Hichel18 15 Posted July 24 The only problem I faced was the sponsor bug (which was fixed in 1.05), tyre DSQ (fixed in 1.05) and the sound engine (which can be annoying, but the performance is of the new engine, so we can live by). I play on a PS4 slim. To me, was well worth the money, yes, it can be annoying facing the bugs, but the game is waaaay too good to drive for me, so I keep doing unless I'm blocked. Didn't face the facilities bug still, but I hope it's swiftly fixed
Aef251 92 Posted July 24 So speaking for myself and my two sons, yes. But... Currently of the 3 xbox accounts only 1 is working perfectly. The other two have camera/controller issue making it unplayable on those accounts. Split screen was not working well last time we looked. Have not received our pre-order pitcoins. On the other hand the racing is pretty solid and I was enjoying my team thoroughly until the controller bug appeared.

Understandable i guess. It does seem you particularly appear to be suffering more than the average person is..
1henryw 113 Posted July 24 Perhaps I've just been unlucky. I have found 3 other posts in the bugs forum saying about the facilities not upgrading tho. If the DQ one happens a third time I'll film it. It seems to only happen when safety car is out.
martbloke 668 Posted July 24 @Naxlr I'm the same as you and I am just monitoring the bugs section and what others are saying in the F1 Chat. I never buy at launch any more as have been burned too many times and always wait for the aftermath to clear up before parting with my money. I was lucky to be a part of the beta so I know a bit about the game, handling-wise, modes and mechanics and from that I would say yes it is worth it as there were only minor issues found. Unfortunately it appears the launched game was not as good for a number of peeps from what I am reading, specifically for the Xbox version, so I'd say IMO that, no the game isn't quite worth the risk of forking out £50 particularly if you are on Xbox it seems and I am holding off until I see the patches released resolving these issues (and confirmation from peeps that it is indeed fixed). Best advice I could give you is to review the bugs section and make an informed decision yourself really. It's your money and your risk at the end of the day. Some (and I would probably say most) have only had minor to limited experiences of bugs and if you are 1 of those, the game is indeed a very good game.
dino78 14 Posted July 24 Codemasters have done a good job with this years release. My Team is much better than i thought. There are a few minor bugs which will get sorted out. What people fail to grasp is that codemasters have to release a game every year contractually and arent anywhere near as big as EA who release yearly fifa games. AAA games take 3-5 years per release and codies are knocking out a game in 1 year. So you do have to take the rough with the smooth. Is it worth £50? If your a f1 fan then yes certainly. Ultra3142 384 Posted July 24 I think it depends what sections of the game you'd want to play immediately. I think Time Trial and GP modes are bug free now but the two career modes and online have more issues. I'd been playing F1 2017 a bit from March and wanted to make the jump to the modern game and have no regrets from having done so. For now I'm still learning the tracks and am gradually learning to drive better and with fewer assists and so TT and GP modes are all I want right now. It's also impossible to tell from bug reports how widespread an issue is, as you generally only hear from the people who do have a problem rather than potentially a silent majority who don't. martbloke 668 Posted July 24 4 hours ago, dino78 said: codies are knocking out a game in 1 year Not entirely true. Of course they are releasing a game each year but not every section is built in that year. They do tend to split resources and in all likelihood, MyTeam was probably in production from when 2019 started production, so essentially 2 years in the making.
