TomAAA 447 Posted July 24 (edited) Platform: Xbox One X Game Version: V1.05 Accessories used: Thrustmaster TS XW, Gamepad Game Mode: Online Multiplayer Unranked Issue: When under VSC or Safety car, players will hit the back of your car to give you a 5 second penalty. When following the safety car or VSC speed you have to avoid other cars and drive slower and if someone hits the back of you, you get a 5 second penalty. It has now become the case as well that players will deliberately hit the car in front to give that player a penalty, I was in a race today where I was repeatedly hit 3 times from behind which gave me 15 seconds worth of penalties! I even heard on the game chat players discussing this 'tactic' by saying "remember to hit the car in front when they brake to keep their place in pack to give them a penalty under safety car" What you tried to resolve: Keeping out of the way even accelerating when car was near but its hard cannot avoid it. @BarryBL Can you get the team to look into this penalty issue as it is being exploited in almost every race online now. I believe it is to do with the game detecting a type of 'brake check' as you obviously have to brake and drive slow to avoid cars weaving under safety car and to keep your place in the erratic pack. BarryBL 4,314 Posted July 24 From my experience @TomAAA (so full damage at least) isn't there a bigger penalty for driving into the back of someone (i.e. Pitstop for new front wing, loss of cascade elements) than the 5seconds to give someone else. Got a recording of quite how hard you can be hit to get a penalty you could show me please Just every time I've done it is 100% in error, and I've paid for it with a 20second trip to the pits. In reduced damaged mode for example they can get away with it if its a head on nose to rear collison. Or they just do it and leave the race. It's difficult as the game does not have a proper race replay feature only highlights. I have this clip from highlight, the VSC has just came out I am the Ferrari and I slow down to match the VSC delta, the Mercedes is not paying attention he hit the left rear of me and I get "5 second penalty for Collision" (side note in replay mode, replays look less professional for sharing as it keeps coming up "communication with online services in the top left corner throughout the replay" I have left bug report about this also) VSC_HIT.mov Edited July 24 by TomAAA Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
zombie82 14 Posted July 24 had the same problem multiple times. a driver behind me hit my rear, 5 seconds for me and another 5 seconds because I hit the car infront... maybe a little too harsh and also completely unnecessary ^^ damage was on reduced and full. It's an issue even if the car that hit you got damage for it... There is 18 other cars on the track who will gain those 5seconds on the innocent driver. Videos, error codes (which can be found in Main Menu > Game Options > Settings > Bottom left 16 digits) and complete bug reports help us look into the issue better. @Zicryh your point is valid, but why would you want to give someone a 5 second penalty when you have just lost your front wing, especially on 'FULL' or 'SIMULATION' damage. dansmotorsport 20 Posted July 27 Platform: Xbox One X Game Version: V1.05 Accessories used: Logitech G920, Turtlebeach stealth 600 headset Game Mode: Online Multiplayer Unranked, online leagues race Issue: When behind SC or VSC if the car behind taps you or you tap the car in front both cars get a 5 second penalty, this happened to me and the guy in front with the smallest of taps even with damage on 'full' (first video), then last night it happened multiple times to numourous people including my self after avoiding the car in front slowing rapidly the car behind hits me and I get a 5 second penalty even though i was avoiding accident in front (second video). It happened a few more times after this in other SC incidents too but to other people in the race not me so afraid I don't have videos of these. Erumasta 10 Posted August 1 It was in 2019 and still in 2020 as codies have not intentions to improve multiplayer at all (what suprise me that game is more popular than 2019 cuz of virtual GP so ppl want to try online which is bugged af. U can overtake cars under SC or VSC what is a big BS, 5sec for collision, teleporting SC, all that stuff was in 2019 and still is in 2020. How blind codies are for this isses i can not understan, and first thing they fix is a guy floating over water in cutscene -_- SC is so bugged that im not surprised that leages chose to turn it off as it cause more problems than driving without it. Technically it is the fault of the driver behind for not leaving enough room to the car ahead (they have 10 car lengths after all) so the driver in front should not be penalized.
