Hi!Ā

I'm currently at Monza in My Team mode and I misjudged the braking point in turn 1. I went through the run off area but i could'nt find a way to not hit the polysterene boards. I think they are to close to each other

That's odd. I canĀ stopĀ before them, sometimes even the track when I turn a bit andĀ jam on the brakesĀ (100% force).Ā Have you tried that? Also, the only thing that solves this is a redesign of that chicane or the entire track, which I don't see happening.

I think what he means is the polystyrene 'chicane' section when the hit the run off, is too tight.Ā

I took this to let a car past in Qualiy without him forcing me off the road and found it too, you can't drive around them.Ā

Having stopped, can you then weave between the polystyrene markers without hitting them to get back on the track? I think this is what the OP meant.Ā I've not tried Monza on F1 2020 yet myself.

Nope. I believe they're there to slow people down, not as obstacles. Thus, they're not meant to be avoided.

I really don't think that's true. In real F1 drivers should be able to slalom round them to return to the track.Ā

There is just enough room to successfully maneuver between them, serves the purpose that if you overshot the chicane, you don't gain advantage. Hamilton last year overshot it while chasing down Leclerc. The incident in question starts at 2:10 mark.

The 2016 season Hamilton and Rosberg we’re battling at Monza. Rosberg misjudged his braking and had to take to run off area. Yes he had to slow down but the boards are far enough apart to miss. In game they are too close to avoid without hitting.Ā

Similar issue is with the so called ā€˜Slow Lane’. When you go off track drivers have to rejoin having gone around an orange bollard. At Russia and Canada I have misjudged my own braking and not made the corner. I stick to the rule of going around the bollard and still get hit with a penalty unless I slow down to a complete stop and then go again. Not sure if this is something Codemasters can work on but would be good if we didn’t get penalties or have to slow right down

In the game? I just had a try using TT and I can't, so I think the OP has a point.Ā

I don't know about the game, I never tried.

My response was to the real life scenario.
