Manual and suggested gears

Recommended Posts

Can you make a small change so we can set the suggested gears for the corners? Pros hit them way higher than what's suggested and some I cant hit full tilt. Just want to be able to set it so I have a reminder of what my optimal corner is.

If you're at the point where the suggested corner gear is too low for you, then you have definitely outgrown that assist.  Just turn it off, learn the corners by heart, and you'll be faster.

DrDraken  is correct on what he said above. It really becomes muscle memory once you practice enough. If you just keep spinning laps, you won't need the suggested gear anymore, you can feel & hear it when your not in the correct gear. The best thing to do is just keep practicing until you have it memorized and really no longer think about it. Practice + practice + practice = going faster

As an example: Turn 11/12 in Australia, the high-speed chicane, I believe the suggested gear going into turn 11 is 5th?  Not sure, but I think that's right.  Once you get used to it, and you're hitting the braking point exactly, you can do it in 6th.  Imagine how much time you'll gain by doing that entire section at a higher speed.

Eventually you will remember all the corners if you play alot. If you dont how would you remember 26 tracks with 10 or more corners? It's just something that would make it more appealing to players that arent as serious.

This is definitely a factor for me at the moment. Whilst I can learn what to do on one track whilst I focus on it for a few days, I'm not remotely convinced this will be obvious again if I come back to it in a couple of months.
