The game does not follow real SC/VSC regulations

Recommended Posts

I faced a similar issue as aarava faced in Vietnamese GP.

aarava's video:

(relevant section: 26:00 - 26:20)

For my case, I pitted under VSC. When I left the pit, I was told a 3-position illeagal overtake. Replay showed that I overtook three on-track cars when I was driving between the pit exit and the second safety car line. These overtakes should be legal under the real F1 sporting regulations:

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/2020_formula_1_sporting_regulations_-_iss_10_-_2020-07-29.pdf

"Article 39.8 With the exception of the cases listed under a) to h) below, no driver may overtake another car on the track, including the safety car, until he passes the Line (see Article 5.3) for the first time after the safety car has returned to the pits.
The exceptions are:
d) When leaving the pits a driver may overtake, or be overtaken by, another car on the track before he reaches the second safety car line."

"40.6 With the exception of the cases listed under a) to d) below, no driver may overtake another car on the track whilst the VSC procedure is in use.
The exceptions are:
b) When leaving the pits a driver may overtake, or be overtaken by, another car on the track before he reaches the second safety car line."

I believe such a kind of issue exist in previous series of F1 games. May Codemasters please look into this issue and similar issues like overtaking on-track cars when one is driving his car between the first safety car line and the pit entry? Thanks!

  • Thanks 1

Had a similar problem when putting under sc deployment . Went to dive into pits at Silverstone and got penalty's for over taking under sc when was driving in pit lane . Had to slow and let all the cars get past start line before I could go into pits . Wasent bothers as was dropping to back any ways . But if it happens half way threw race then it's going to ruine your race

Hanoi is in the same case. This proves that CM does not care about SC.

@PaulLynch Also please report this as a bugreport, only then they can do something about it

@philappleraily Complaining doesnt help at all. People always say Codemasters dont care about anything in their game, but if we actually provide good feedback to them, they will look into fixing it. They cant test every single part and situation before the release. When people start playing the game they are going to run into these things, but codemasters can only improve the game with solid feedback in the form of bugreports.

Ok. What about bug reports regarding the SC from previous yearS? Don’t forget that on one edition (don’t know when by heart), they even removed the SC without ever communicating.

So, yes I fulfill a bug report for the so many SC bugS and I hope you are right and I’m wrong.

Had similar problem under safety car at silverstone too Just before pit lane safety car came out so I putted as it was only 1 lap before normal pit stop and when I came out in 18th place the game forced me to give up places until I ended up 22nd under sc even though 19th was 2 seconds behind me when I re-entered track proper.
