happycactus 8 Posted August 4 Fairly new to the Codemasters F1 game but been playing Grand Prix 2/3/4 for 20+ years. A couple of things that F1 2020 is missing that would make the game awesome - hopefully they can be added during an update. 1. Mechanical failures for players. With the option to turn it on/off. Yes it’s frustrating but its extra realism. 2. Manually driving in the pitlane. I dont need the computer to take over. 3. Remove the grey screen when you crash. Allow the player to drive back to the pitlane to retire or pull off the circuit. GP4 had a great feature where you could watch the reminder of the race using a tv director if you crashed out or retired. 4. A free practice mode so that you can lean tracks or practice setups. Great game otherwise.

For practice sessions in the more conventional sense just use the practice sessions of GP mode.
Neonriver 0 Posted August 4 You can change the setup in practice and run laps without doing the programmes
Nightfire1964 161 Posted August 4 (edited) yeah but with practice mode in GP mode you only have certain amount of tyres and you have to deal with traffic aswell i wouldn't mind having option 4. with regards to 2 and 3 i quite like how project cars deal with this, especially how they do it online with the cool down lap you can choose to skip to the pit or you can carry on your cool lap but there is a time limit. also even when you crashed in solo mode on project cars 2 you could still carry on watching the race which was nice Edited August 4 by Nightfire1964

Nightfire1964 161 Posted August 4 (edited) kind of literally what just came into my mind is project cars 2 have a time trial mode but they do have a thing called private testing where you can pick your car and track and decide what weather you want. you could make it so you could practice race pace but halfway through you can add rain to practice on when you have to change to wet tyres. there is many things that you could do to practice on. which i like it's what helped me learn how to drive daytonna road course in the porsche 919.
