Crash selecting 5120x1440 in graphics options

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have a brand new install of F1 2020 on PC

When I try to change my graphics options to 5120x1440 the screen goes black with the music playing for a few seconds then my PC restarts.

No crash dump is created

My system is:

i5 9600K at stock speeds / Asus Z390-Plus gaming WiFi / RTX2070 8Gb / Samsung Odyssey G9 49" ultrawide 32:9

So how do i get this game playing at 5120x1440 ?

Edit: just to add My setup works fine in iRacing

1.       Game crashes when selecting 5120x1440 in graphics options menu

2.       Platform - PC Win10 x64
3.       What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) - 1.06
4.       Game-mode? - Single player
5.       What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too. - Several attempts.
6.       What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue - switched off many graphics options (AA etc)
7.       What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) - Fanatec CSW2.5 / Universal hub / v3 pedals
8.       Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. - no crash log - don't have a capture card so how would i video it?

Is there anywhere where we can get some actual support? Or have I wasted money on a game that doesn't work?

Ignored

Happy to take my money - not happy about fixing their product.

Have you tried directly editing the config file? You can find it at My Documents\My Games\F1 2020\hardwaresettings 🙂

No - how would I even know that was an option?

There seem to be an increasing number of problems when the game is using non-wide resolutions (super or ultra).

This is 'comment' and not a solution.

I would also hope that you are using HDMI 2.1 and / or DP8K cables of a reputable quality. Maybe lower the refresh to see if the game can cope.

I do think this is is likely to be a game issue, you guys are certainly pushing the envelope.
