Principius 1 Posted August 8 Hi everyone, I need a bit of help understanding what's wrong with how I handle slower corners. I play with the AI at 87 rating, without traction control, and on faster circuits, say Paul Ricard or Sotchi, I totally own the AI in my career. Considering the performance of my car (My Team, second season, I'm the 3rd slowest team in the overall performance, in front of Haas and Williams), I should be nowhere near the first 5 spots, but on those circuits I can get a podium without too many issues. And I am way faster than my teammate (he finishes 15th or less while I'm in the top 5, for instance) However, on circuits with loads of slower corners, like Monaco or Hanoi, I am totally outclassed. In Monaco, for example, I have huge amount of understeer at every corner entry. To counter that, I just brake earlier and more, making sure my turn starts with a slower speed. It kinda help, but that causes me to of course, be slower. The other issue is at the corner exit: I just have 0 traction. I am careful on the throttle, plus short shifts on 1st, 2nd and 3rd, all the way to 4th gear. And that's usually when I can go full throttle (4th gear), but even then, I had occasions where I spun even in 4th gear. I tried being even more careful with the throttle, but then I'm not even close to being able to follow the AI. It's as if they have a huge amount of grip while I just have wheel spin from 1st to 4th gear. After turns 8, 10/11 in Monaco, they can get so much distance at the corner exit it's ridiculous. I then spend the rest of the track trying to catch up on the faster corners.... I don't have a mega expensive steering wheel setup. I'm using the Thrustmaster TMX with the pedals that came with it. I feel it is totally fine for my needs, and I don't really think a more expensive set of pedals would help me a whole lot. Anyways... any tip or advice is more than welcome. I don't really wanna start setting the AI rating at a different number from one race to another, there is no logic to that in my mind. Thanks in advance. RS Phil 214 Posted August 8 Hi, Check your on throttle diff to be close to 50 first. Then you should consider your setup. More rear wing, softer suspension, stiffer ARB and lower tyre pressure can help you on slow corner entry. If your are playing long career, watch the YouTube video from simracingsetups. This is a good starting point. Hope it helps.
TheJokerQx 2 Posted August 8 Low speed corners require low camber (slider to the right) as the car wont lean as much on tires. To press the front end down on the tarmac some more, you need stiffer rear suspension, but not too much as to make the rear unstable. Deceleration diff should be very low. Accel diff depends our your throttle skills, but will benear 60% Last thing that can help: having the rear 2 3 notches higher than front to help loosen the rear and not loose downforce. Hope that helps.
Do you mean accelerator differential in 50 only on tracks like Monaco or Hanoi or on all tracks?

Mate the bestest in this year F1 2020 game is in the narrow / slowest circuits adapting an diferencial value 50 or at Max 55%.. And In faster circuits you can put 70 or 75% depending aswell in Carsetup you are using.. Using differencial at 50 lets you having much more Traction exiting the corners and you won t loose too much the rear.. Lowest tyre pressures at front is big point too.. Thx for the answer i'll be test later.
nuNceP 18 Posted August 10 Please note that a loose differential (low values) will also give you less understeer when accelerating out of a corner. This has been very useful for me on Hungaroring in MyTeam due to many slow corners that are taken at half throttle.
Principius 1 Posted August 10 Thanks everyone. A lot of very good tips that I'll try in the next few days. I'm confident this will help. Thanks again.
