Codemasters Staff CodiesBlogBot Posted August 13, 2020 Codemasters Staff Share Posted August 13, 2020 Music has been a huge factor in previous DIRT titles, particularly DiRT 2 and DiRT 3 – games that we’ve specifically marked as inspirations for this latest entry in the series. Even when we revealed DIRT 5 to the world back in early-May, one of the most asked questions we received has been around the soundtrack. With all that in mind, we knew that music had to be a big focus for DIRT 5 – and it’s time to reveal all! The DIRT 5 soundtrack brings you over 40 of the best and brightest sounds from multiple genres, from artists around the globe, making it a key part of DIRT 5’s overall style and vibe. Iconic rock acts such as The Killers and New Found Glory; hot new acts like Sports Team, The Mysterines and YUNGBLUD; club legends like The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy; all that and more has a spot in DIRT 5’s hand-picked, eclectic soundtrack. In-game, this music will be the backdrop whenever you navigate through DIRT 5’s menus and race setups, and will naturally transition as you load into a race event. Once you’re racing, players will have multiple options for how to listen to the soundtrack. In the pause menu’s audio settings, choose ‘3D’ for the music to dynamically change as you race past speakers and points of interest along the track, or select ‘2D’ to have the music playing consistently through the race. There are, of course, options to adjust the volume levels, including switching the music off. Check out this of more artists and tracks coming to the biggest and most diverse DIRT soundtrack ever: American Authors – Microphone (Habitat Remix) Arkells – Years In The Making Barns Courtney – Fun Never Ends Car Seat Headrest – Hollywood Chaka Khan – Like Sugar Child of the Parish – Thread The Needles Eye Dinosaur Pile-Up – Back Foot EOB: Ed O’Brien – Shangri-La – Spike Stent Edit Floating Points – LesAlpx Foals – In Degrees Hero The Band – Shout Hockey Dad – I Missed Out Inhaler – We Have To Move On Jamie N Commons – Let’s Do It Till We Get It Right John J Presley – Left Mason – Dance, Shake, Move New Found Glory – Hit or Miss Noisy – Oi ATM Oh The Larceny – Check It Out Pearl Jam – Who Ever Said Sports Team – The Races Starcrawler – Home Alone Stormzy – Pop Boy (ft. This is just the beginning, too – as we head towards launch we’ll have more songs from world-renowned artists to add to DIRT 5’s soundtrack, including exclusives that you’ll hear for the very first time in this game. Those exclusive tracks and more will also feature in an official soundtrack release, as Codemasters partners with Universal Music to give you a way to stay in the vibe of DIRT 5, wherever you are. A real-world OST, available on music streaming platforms upon DIRT 5’s launch in October, is coming your way – keep an eye on our channels for news on tracks and release details. DIRT 5 comes to PC and current-gen consoles on October 16, with a FREE upgrade to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 next-gen versions, when they launch. AngryGPMG96
Got Dirt 5 on release Friday here in Australia and initially thought the soundtrack had three or four songs on rotation. That was until I saw the play list in the credits, and confirmed with the above list of tracks. My quandry is......... Where are the rest of the tracks? Doesn't really matter anyway as I've turned down the woeful screeching to barely audible. Same goes for the godaweful in game sound effects of fireworks, flares, screaming crowds etc. Is it a racing game, or an attempt to destroy gamers eardrums? ElsaWhite11
Lol, this is most likely a gamer's attempt to destroy the eardrums, haha. Due to noise exposure, I have to turn off the notifications of the employee monitoring program. I really liked the music in DiRT 2 and DiRT 3, but I'm really looking forward to the new track of American authors-Microphone (Habitat Remix) in DIRT 5.
