@UnderclassGDfan

I thought about it, it is how a rally-thing works in real life.

But it's kind of a strange thing in a game mechanic, because AI not actually drive, their time simulated. And this method never used in any other rally games, player just see the leader time and should beat it. That's why i thought it's a bug.

I don't know the requirements for the game as a program product, but as player i'm a little bit disappointed of this decision.

If it's an official position of Codemasters as i see from the react of PJTierney on your message well, okay.

Anyway, thank you for your answer!

this game is more about improving your driving and doing as well as you can than about finishing first in every race like most games. that's why there's no reward for winning career mode championships or moving up the difficulty ladder other than more cash to spend on your team. it's a better imitation of real life rallying and I think it works as a game mechanic in Dirt Rally 2 because this game is (mostly) trying to be a sim.

also, rallying in Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 was like this too, even though those are definitely leaning more towards the arcade side.

@PJTierney I did extensive tests, here are the 3 cars I found that have issue with side mirrors not showing a correct mirrored image in interior view :

The ❤️ was because it sounds like his specific issue was resolved, not an endorsement of anything else.

Don't read too much into reaction ratings. If I wanted to say something I'd say it 😉

I just bought a logitech G29 and have very weak FFB.

Tried all different kind of settings but not getting any good FFB.

Tried DR, PC2 and the FFB are much more present. I feel the different road textures, understeer and much more force when trying to make hard turns.

So there is nothing wrong with the G29.

what is wrong with this game ??
at the daily event in argentina you drive subaru legacy from the start 15km/h and then the car stops and crawls on with 9km/h !!
The ******* car just won't drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even with manual gear shift the car just won't drive forward

What is this ridiculous rally game where the car does not drive!
It took me more than 5 minutes for one sector because the car just does not accelerate

Reminder:

If it's repeatable then log it 🙂

Also, things like specific Stage, game mode etc. are very important for something like this as it may be location-specific.

Also helps us see if others are having same problem.

Really?

After all the bugs reported in the 1.14 thread there is not even one of these bugs mentioned in the patch note to 1.15 ... so why should you fill out this form if they will completely ignored?

This seems like a placebo thread.

Hello, first time posting here, but I can't keep ignoring this issue.

Issue: FPS halved after patch

Method of Reproduction:

With every car and every stage I get half the fps I used to get. Everything worked fine pre-patch (except the usual problem with Nvidia GPUs and crowds). I've put the graphical setting to minimum, deactivated every overlay option and still get the same fps issue. Non of my other games are experiencing any issues.

Platform: PC

PC Build: i7 9700k, Rtx 2060 super, ram 16gb

VR Headset used: Non

Wheel/Pedals used: Thrustmaster T300rs, T3pa and Th8a

Issue: Aston Martin is missing shift lights. Only sequential car in the game with none, which should be a pretty telling sign

Method of reproduction: drive Aston Martin in cockpit view and rev up the engine. No shift lights anywhere

Issue: In rallycross qualifying the randomized times from the other heats are completely different level to the AI drivers in your heat. They can be 5, 10, 20 seconds faster than the AI drivers. So I end up in this bizarre situation where I'm too fast for the AI drivers but finish 16th all the time despite winning my heat, because the broken randomized times. This is a critical and/or game-breaking issue because it completely destroys singleplayer rallycross.

I have been reporting this for a YEAR and on my end it appears absolutely nothing has been done to fix this game-breaking issue. Leave rallycross out completely if you don't give a toss if it works or not! Game has lots of fine rallycross content but singleplayer racing has always been broken, that makes no sense.

Here is an idea, please pass this on to whoever is responsible for the AI (assuming anyone is): implement a crude duct-tape solution where the randomized times are based on the AI drivers in your heat, and are never more than X seconds (insert suitable value here. Hint: it needs to be a lot less than 20) faster than the fastest AI driver in your heat. That would be a pretty crude lowly measure, in a game where the marketing department wax lyrical about a super hyper advanced AI, but that would be an enormous improvement over the current situation. Like, it would actually make singleplayer rallycross playable on my level. Which it has never been during the whole year I have been playing Dirt Rally 2.0.

Method of Reproduction:

  1. Start singleplayer rallycross qualifer. Set difficulty to something like 80-90, or elite in career. Or I don't know, try various difficulties that aren't exclusively 100? It's kind of the idea of an adjustable difficulty that you can adjust it, no?
  2. Complete the heat. Compare the times of the drivers in your heat to the randomized times from the other heats.
  3. The randomized times from the other heats should be about the same level as the AI drivers in your heat. Like, not 10 or 20 seconds faster. But about the same level. Like, if you win every heat by several seconds then you need to finish a lot higher than 16th in every qualifier.
  4. Do the same on several RX tracks. This is not specific to a single track, it happens everywhere. Killarney and Silverstone seem to be especially bad but it happens on others as well.
  5. Here are a few examples. Hint: these are examples of how it should NOT be. Like, if the AI drivers are 2:45-2:47 level then the randomized times should be about 2:45-2:47 level. Not 2:29-2:34 level.

Issue: in Skoda Fabia Rally (the 2000cc class car that is, not the R5 car) the steering wheel blocks the display so you can't see the gear indicator. Purely cosmetic inaccuracies/defects are one thing but this is something that affects driving the car in cockpit view.

How to replicate: select Skoda Fabia Rally, drive it in cockpit view with steering wheel on. You should be able to clearly see both gear indicator and shift lights  but the steering wheel is a bit on the way

20200910200615_1.thumb.jpg.8db70b5f3f38a01440da075991475001.jpg

Video and photo of the real car that shows how it should look like:

skoda-fabia-wrc-interior-steering-wheel-

So it should look something like this (a very crude sketch but gives the idea):

20200910200615_1.thumb.jpg.b99fb3a6d4b77efbb7527f6797107d8c.jpg

Or at least change it so that  you can see the gear indicator and shift lights when driving?  If you won't make the interior accurate (which they aren't in quite a few cars) at least make it functional.

For future titles it would be nice to improve the interior detail level and accuracy a bit. It's kind of illogical that interiors are modelled with pretty high detail except for the parts that are in your view when driving in cockpit view (displays, shift lights, gear indicators, speedometers) and affect your driving. Which are quite inaccurate with many cars, use generic copy-paste stuff instead of being modelled in detail to match the real car, have blatant errors (speedometers in mph in cars where they should be in km/h, being located behind the steering wheel so you can't see them) etc.

Issue: Monthly Events in My Team still don't count correctly. Every rally within the event count as 1 event started but only finishing the event counts as event finished. Means: If you start a monthly event with 3 rallies you get +3 events started but only +1 events ended. It looks then you didn't finished 2 rallies within the event. For me as a statistics fanatic it makes me furious and keeps me away from playing monthlies at all. So it's a small bug, but critical for me.

Method of Reproduction: Did monthlies since release many times and it is always the same. Simply note the statistics before doing a monthly in My Team and see. This applies to all monthlies (Bonus, normal, AI monthlies) but not to dailies or weeklies because they don't have multiple rallies.

Platform: X-Box One S

PC Build: /

VR Headset used: /

Wheel/Pedals used: /

Before the monthly event it was a difference of 3 (already messed up from a previous attempt):
ec7b7ea0-805a-46e0-ba05-db4e53bdbf82_Thu

After the monthly event, it was a difference of 5, despite completing all rallies and stages:
20f83abe-19d9-4a00-a44e-1d4937e0df96_Thu

I did the current bonus monthly with 3 rallies, counting 2 of them not as ended like it is since release:

Yes, I did that only to test it 😃
