Race Engineer

Recommended Posts

Why can’t we make Jeff a useful race engineer? You know, actually doing what a race engineer does over a race weekend, taking information provided by the driver and suggesting setup changes to improve the car?

Example,

Me: Jeff I have understeer on turn entry.

Jeff: okay, let’s try making X change.

This has been requested many times. Sometimes Jeff is speaking about understeer or oversteer but this is weird since he talks about this without you having problems. We should ask Jeff, a little bit like it is implemented in Project Cars.

A dream would be to have Jeff analyzing the data and telling you that your tyres are overheating or the degradation is too high and suggest changes. Would’nt it be nice?

Personally I prefer English, because this is the way it goes in real F1 even with French drivers and French engineers. My mother tong is French but I prefer speaking to Jeff in English.

The point is here to have a useful Jeff. I race without HUD or any info. So basically, I have to ask Jeff about tyres of other drivers and pit stop information. This is way much more entertaining than only listen to him telling you irrelevant info all the time.
