Joethe155 8 Posted August 27 (edited) Around F1 2011ish, when you went off the racing line, your grip really went away dramatically later in the race as you hit the marbles of rubber discarded from the tyre surface and the controller vibrated a lot in response. Think 2011 was the only game it was in. Really liked that. People remember it? Good example of something that should have stayed part of the series for me, but was forgotten about. marioho 686 Posted August 27 These? Maybe they attenuated the feedback but I'm fairly positive they're still implemented in the handling model. There's probably a David Greco comment about it somewhere. And yes, that was one of those disgustingly satisfying switcheroo on the DRS detection zone. Max went in just ahead of me as I let him go through the inside of the first half of the chicane just to get back ahead on the next and get a much appreciated DRS with nothing but free air to pull ahead of the red bull.

Not sure either if marbles still effect racing but got to agree the switch manoeuvre at that place is excellent place to do it but I have a tendency to disappear of track trying it lol.
PorcsheRevs 13 Posted August 29 Marbles are not so prominent in real life anymore, especially with the current Pirelli rubber. This was actually mentioned at the Spanish GP recently by either SKY or C4, can’t remember if it was Brundle or Coulthard that was talking about it. Anyway, obviously marbles still exist and grip is effected off the racing line but it’s not as pronounced as it used to be a decade ago.
Joethe155 8 Posted August 31 They're certainly still there visually. Maybe the effect is still there but it's a lot less. Now you mentioned how different the tyres are then it does make sense if the effect isn't as drastic.
