HELP | How to assign reserve drivers in custom League?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I need little bit help with my league since I am unable to add reserve drivers to the races. I'm not sure if I'm even trying to do it the right way, so I would appreciate any help.

Our league is set as "private", "scheduled" and reserve drivers are set as "enabled"/"allowed", but AI is set as "disabled"/"not allowed" since we don't want AI participating in our races. I don't know if I have been doing it right way but I have been trying to invite reserve drivers through the race lobby. When I invited a player to the race lobby the game gives me option to set the player as "Reserve driver" or as "Spectator". However, when I'm setting player as "Reserve driver" nothing happens, I can only set player as "Spectator" (that works fine). So, I don't know if reserve drivers should be invited to the league first or what because in the lobby there is this text "invited players can only be set as spectators...".

I should have written this message while I'm in the game, but hopefully someone understands my problem and can help me.

Thank you beforehand!

Yes I would also like to know how to do this as I tried to enter a reserve for a race at the weekend too and all they could do was spectate as well. The option was there to set as reserve driver but it didn’t do anything like above.

If you want to go through the trouble you could test whether it's about the AI. Create a new league, invite a friend as a reserve and put AI cars in the session. If it works, it's most likely about the AI setting, which I actually think it is. This is just conjecture, but I would imagine the system works so that the "regular" drivers have a reserved spot on the grid, which the game only knows to give up if an AI car is added to its place. Then you'd be able to invite a reserve. Like I said, I have no experience with the in-game league system but that's what I see as a possibility.

I believe you can only assign a Reserve if you have the AI Subs enabled, so a reserve can take the place of a driver not partcitipating.

With AI subs disabled, you can't assign any Reserves, which is quite a shame and not really useful.

yep ai subs are enabled as the ai will race for them if they can’t make it but I am unable to add another person to act as a reserve driver. The player trying to come in just gets the message that the league is full.

The reserve system doesnt work it was the same on the last game, only loophole is to kick the person out and invite the reserve to take their place.
