F12020 not detecting new Logitech g923 wheel on pc.

Recommended Posts

I have the PS4 and pc version of the Logitech g923 and F12020 isn’t picking up the steering wheel and states that there is no preset control scheme. Even when the wheel is detected, half the controls don’t work like the steering and pedals and only the spas and other buttons work. The wheel works fine for other games and I’m only having trouble with this game. I have tried restarting everything, verifying game integrity, downloaded g hub / Logitech game software and removing controller configuration from steams settings and nothing helps. Currently I get this image on start up and it won’t allow me to assign keys. I attached a picture of what I get upon starting the game.

I would suggest deleting any G27/G29/G920 control schemas, using this utility, restarting and installing a clean version of GHub, restarting, connecting the wheel, testing for correct operation in GHub, deleting the hardware_settings_config.xml and verifying Steam files before running the game.

@steviejay69 I have followed your instructions, but it hasn't made any difference.

The G923 wheel seems to be detected by the game on launch, but when you attempt to configure a control scheme for it, the inputs are not properly detected. For example, the input for "steer left" and "steer right" is detected as the same and not as a wheel controller.

We need a response from development about when the Logitech G923 wheel will be properly supported in F1 2020.

What happens if you disconnect the MadCatz and try again (steps include the delete schemas, delete HWSC file and reverify Steam)?

Hi All,

The wheel will work fine if you go and configure it in the controls.  When you configure the Steer Left/Right functions it should come up as X- and X+ respectively.  If it's done that then you're good to go.  Remember that when assigning the steering F1 has a very low timeout whilst it waits for input so you need to turn the wheel all the way in the respective direction and then get it back to centre quickly too.

Once you've got everything set up, remember to go and turn the wheel dampening down to 5 or 10% in the force feedback section otherwise the wheel just won't feel right.

I am having the same issue.  Also, it always thinks the accelerator is at 100% unless you press it. So fully pressed down is 0%, not pressed is 100%.  I am so frustrated that I am about to give up

This mapping can be if you use LGS rather than GHub or an old version on GHub.

But essentially, try the basic troubleshooting steps offered in the earlier post.

Yeah I ended up figuring it out over the weekend following similar steps to what you posted.  Here is what worked for me:

  1. Uninstall GHUB
  2. Disconnect G923
  3. Install LGS
  4. Install GHUB
  5. Connect G923
  6. Load F1 2020
  7. Run through Initial Setup of Wheel

Really though, to be consistent with the advice I've offered here before, the accepted way of using the G-series wheels is to ONLY use GHub as it is the accepted solution advised by Logitech.

Hopefully Codemasters' implementation of the control support is with this configuration.

The same FFB .dll is used by GHub as the last version of LGS but the .dll has a different name.

But thanks for posting what worked for you.
