T100 (F430) Wheel Useless and Multiplayer gripes

Recommended Posts

Why is using a wheel so awful?

I have a T100 (F430) it's supported and on the list it turns and all the buttons work ok and it's not the best wheel out there but doesn't cost a mortgage.

I tried for hours altering settings but it's just blooming awful with f1 2015 ffb is all over the place the centre twitching is unplayable.

My T100 (F430) works perfect with Driveclub and project cars but so disappointed with using it on F1 anyone know the best settings as I've given up as it's much better with the poxy controller.

Multiplayer oh dear what have you done? I tried every sodding selection for hours and out of 100's of attempts I finally got into one online race lobby.

I hope this gets sorted asap.

Like Many others waiting eagerly for this game to be released I feel a bit cheated out of my hard earned money at this stage ok there will be issues but reading the forums already looks like there are one or two gripes that urgently need addressing.

More details about the wheel issue as the multiplayer gripe can wait.

Firstly my T100 Thrustmaster (F430) wheel details.

wheel set up in a pod works flawlessly and perfectly with other PS4 driving games without any issues.

load up F1 2015 have my wheel all hooked up ready and as soon as F1 is at menu I insert usb and wheel goes through the motions and calibrates exactly the same as it always does for other games so no problem there.

I can navigate all the menus and there are no problems the wheel is displayed correctly as the T100 in the wheel settings leave all the settings as standard FFB on and the settings at 50 50 with all the other stuff all at zero.

start any session and the wheel is awful to use don't touch the wheel and it drives in a straight line as expected the tiniest of movement and the cars response twitches so bad from the centre of the track I will almost be on the verge with the tiniest of movements. And it's very difficult to control precise steering inputs. I've tried the ffb settings the environment settings the weight settings increasing and decreasing by 5 every time I've also tried adding some dead zone at 1 digit at a time all to no avail. It just gets worse.

The force feedback just feels wrong compared to project cars and Driveclub I can't understand why it's so bad on F1 heck I'll turn FFB off if the car would stop twitching.

The problem with this wheel is that the ffb -forces are inverted. Instead of pulling to the centre, the wheel pulls the other way. Hence the twitchy feeling.

Thanks for for the reply.

I'm a bit miffed though as using my wheel with Driveclub and project cars the ffb is really good and has never once felt twitchy.

F1 is horrendous and unplayable,

Been reading some very interesting posts on here regarding wheels and some of those wheels that cost a fortune are also having problems mainly with CM force feedback coding.

Pc games used to have a +/- button in the settings menu. You could invert the ffb-forces that way.
This game needs that button.  :/

Many thanks I will try those settings today.

Did you trial and error those settings? Eg did you find the wheel twitchy at the start on the standard settings?

I tried altering the FFB EFFB and WW bit didn't touch the linearity or saturation.

The wheel was twitchy as hell when I first started playing the game. Kept tweaking the settings till I got it perfect. Feels wonderful now.

I'm playing with my t100 now and even on 2013/14 I had same problems impossible to keep straight any slight movement and I'm gone of track and seemed like it was taking me forever to get the right setting which I gave up in the end but with drive club had no problem with wheel was really good . Playing with my linearity on 70 at the mo and saturation on 2 I'm going to try your settings and see if helps cheers mate

I know I have a real cheap wheel, Thrustmaster Spider 458 on Xbox One but could I possibly use those above settings on mine? Steering is awful in F1 2015 but the wheel works great on Forza 5

Superb improvement I'm now running your settings and thank you for sharing your settings at last I'm now enjoying using my wheel.

Took me a few laps to get used to the new settings but it is now so much better and after 20 or so laps I'm now feeling it.

My ps4 settings with T100

Steering Linearity: 50
Steering Saturation: 50

FFB Strength: 80
Environmental FFB: 90
Wheel Weight: 40

If any one has suggestions of it to make this better (more corner pressure feeling) let me know.

This is good news for me as i've been struggling with this twitchy feeling with the same wheel. I've not changed the steering sensitivity on my wheel since I got it (for Project Cars initially) and it's semeed fine on default for that. So setting 3 is the one with 3 lights lit up? I'll try your other settings next time I get some track time :)

Fantastic!! Many thanks @Scullyau I tried your settings on the Thrustmaster Spider (linearity at 50, saturation at 30) and they work like a charm. I now have nice smooth steering inputs and no longer find the twitchness that plagued me before. I should have realised that these settings needed increasing as the game settings at default as far as I understand it are based on a wheel with 360 degrees of rotation. The Spider has a 240 degree of rotation so the defaults are slightly out of whack for this wheel. Makes perect sense now. I will test the saturation at 50 next to see if that makes things even better but bottom line is at 50/30 it feels damn good :)
